BEIJING, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Premier Wen Jiabao on Sunday encouraged young Chinese students to dedicate their lives to the people and bind their own destinies with that of the nation.     Wen made the call at a symposium with some 100 students of the prestigious Tsinghua University, who have chosen to work in China's less-developed western regions or at the grassroots level after graduation.     Wen's Tsinghua tour marked his annual visit to university campuses since 2003 ahead of the Chinese Youth Day, which falls on Monday this year. "The love and devotion to the people is the most lofty part of human morals," said he.     Wen praised Zou Shenglan and Yan Weilong after learning they had volunteered to work in Tibetan villages.     He told them to be prepared for the hardship in rural areas. "I believe after being tempered at the grassroots level in Tibet, you'll become more mature," he said. "And when you look back at that part of experience in the future, you'll have no regret."     "I want you all to be well-educated people with moral integrity and work ability, and be of use to the people," Wen said before concluding the discussion, followed by having lunch with the students at their dinning hall. BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the ruling United Russia Party met Tuesday to exchange views on the international financial crisis.     "This is the first official and high-level dialogue between the Chinese and Russian ruling parties," said Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee of his meeting with United Russia Party's council presidium secretary Vyacheslav Volodin.     Wang and Volodin signed an agreement on party-to-party cooperation on later Tuesday. Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping attended the signing ceremony.     Xi hailed the Sino-Russian relationship when meeting with Volodin before the ceremony, saying that China would work with Russia to promote stable and healthy growth of the ties, in a bid to benefit the two nations and peoples. SHANGHAI, July 17 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said in Shanghai Friday that he expected cooperation between China and the United Stated in the fields of clean energy technology and carbon emission elimination would benefit both countries in the campaign against climate change.  "I believe there is great opportunity for greater cooperation between United States and China," said Locke, a Chinese American, in his speech at a welcome ceremony jointly hosted by American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and the US-China Business Council.     His audience included dozens of Chinese businessmen from across the country and representatives of international corporations with branches in Shanghai.     "I want China and the United States to lead the world and save the planet from irreversible climate change. SHENYANG, June 27 (Xinhua) -- China's steel giant, Ansteel, had got government approval to increase its stake in Australian iron ore explorer Gindalbie Metals, a spokesman with Ansteel said Saturday.     The approval came Tuesday, allowing the Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Ansteel) in northeast China's Liaoning Province to increase its interest in Gindalbie from 12.6 percent to 36.28 percent to become its biggest shareholder, according to the spokesman of Ansteel.     The purchase will be finished within a week. Then the two sides will invest a 534-million-Australian dollar in Karara iron ore project in western Australia, with a 50-50 ownership.     Gindalbie proposed Ansteel buy more of its shares in August last year. The application was approved by the board of Gindalbie early February.
