SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police arrested a man on suspicion of killing the owner of an East Village flooring business, but a female suspect remains at large, detectives said Thursday.Kevin Eugene Cartwright, 51, was arrested in El Cajon Tuesday. No motive was released.??????10News spoke to Venus, who told us she was Ghedeer "Tony" Radda's cousin. Ten years his junior, she said she always looked up to Radda as a "cool older brother," who taught her everything from pop culture to how to grow up. She said the tragedy was so numbing, she still cannot accept it as reality. "I wake up everyone morning thinking, is this still a dream? Am I ever going to wake up from this nightmare?" Venus asked.Officers believe Kevin Cartwright and an unidentified woman killed Radda at Bottom Price Flooring on G Steet, October 10. Radda suffered trauma to his upper body and died at the scene."I can't imagine him thinking, am I going to go now? Do I call my kids? Do I call my wife? At the end of the day, I just want him to tell us, why?" Venus said.For more than a week, investigators looked for two disguised suspects caught on Radda's newly-installed surveillance cameras. They captured a person in a Granny Mask and a woman with a purple wig.San Diego Police said Wednesday evening they arrested the man they believed was behind the Granny Mask-- Kevin Eugene Cartwright."Today did give us a little bit of peace, not that it will bring him back, but just to know that there is a little bit of closure, that one person has been caught," Venus said. 10News went to Cartwright's last known address in El Cajon. A man answered the door but provided no comment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 17-year-old boy with several health problems.According to police, Jeremy Jose Sanchez was last seen by his mother at their apartment on Aug. 23 at around 9 p.m. Police did not disclose what part of the city the boy was last seen.The teen suffers from vision damage, loss of hearing, and has active tuberculosis. Police said he takes medications for his conditions, but he left his home without them.Police said Jeremy was reported as a runaway juvenile at risk due to health conditions.The teen is Latino with a tanned complexion, 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs around 146 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.Jeremy was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, and white, red and black Jordan shoes.Anyone with information on the teen is urged to contact San Diego police at 619-531-2000 or 911. 902

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Sailors from the USS Abraham Lincoln Strike Group are returning home after 294 days.Sailors left from their home port in Virginia in April and saw their deployment extended twice before coming to their new home port of Coronado.P02 John Aportela is one of the the 6,000 sailors that made up the strike group. Like many parents, he met his 6-month-old daughter for the first time.“I’m blessed to be back and I thank God for bringing us back safe." Sailors and Marines were involved with maritime security and combat missions while working with allies, including France, Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Oman.Those missions took the crew across the globe to places like Singapore, Saipan, Philippines, Japan, Israel, Thailand, Australia, Maldives, Hong Kong, and other locations. The strike group's Helicopter Marine Strike Squadron 79, or "The Griffins," returned to NAS Coronado Sunday ahead of the carrier's arrival. That team was supposed to return before Halloween, but had their employment extended.The group's 10-month deployment was the longest carrier deployment since the Cold War. Some of them say - it's likely a lack of light that emboldens criminals. Wednesday, those neighbors brought the issue up with at a Pacific Beach Planning Group meeting, and offered a unique solution.  "Quality of life crimes are going up."Marcella Teran would know. She's lived here in the area for 30 years."We live by the Pacific Beach library, and there's so much crime over there and drug dealing," she said. "I just didn't feel safe at all."A few houses down, up in a tree above the sidewalk, Teran's neighbor took matters into his own hands."They're LED, solar powered, and it's super bright," she said, pointing out the lights her neighbor put up in front of his home. The best part is, they aren't expensive.
