SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A local hardware store is hoping to find the family of a mysterious model the store used for an ad when it first opened its doors in the late 1800s.The woman, known as the “Hardware Lady,” modeled hardware items on her dress for one of San Diego Hardware’s first advertisements 125 years ago.The company is hoping to identify the mystery model in time for their December 8 anniversary party. The store also hopes to honor the model and her family.The model’s dress was styled with keys, locks and chains and a small wood burning stove. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new poll shows many San Diegans would “definitely” or “probably” get a COVID-19 vaccine if it were available to them at little or no cost.An ABC 10News/San Diego Union-Tribune scientific poll recently asked 500 San Diego adults about their thoughts on a potential coronavirus vaccine, including who should get a vaccine first and their feelings towards vaccinations in general.Among the questions participants were asked: “A vaccine for the Coronavirus may soon be available to the public. If clinical trials go well, and a vaccine is available to you that is either free or costs just a few dollars, would you definitely get the vaccine? Probably get the vaccine? Probably not get the vaccine? SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A preliminary hearing was held Monday for a parolee accused of sexually assaulting an 88-year-old woman at a Hillcrest nursing home. Police say 49-year-old Lusean Arline was arrested November 4th in connection with the alleged October 27th sexual assault at the Balboa Nursing & Rehab Center on Fourth Ave.Prosecutors say Arline entered the nursing home, possibly through an unlocked door, around 3 that morning and was found completely nude on top of the victim in her bed. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A pillar to the community and a San Diego civic icon Reverend George Walker Smith has died at 91. For six decades, Rev. Smith was a trailblazing leader in the African American community. Smith also led Christ United Presbyterian Church of San Diego for decades. Those who were lucky enough to cross paths with him say he was kind to all. "We kind of thought of Rev. Smith as the black godfather of San Diego, and of this church, because he helped so many people," said Delores McNeely, a church member of 30 years. He was the first African American to be elected in the city when he won the race for the San Diego Board of Education in 1963. Rev. Smith started the Catfish Club, whose weekly lunches were a gathering spot for those interested in civic or political issues. "All the political leaders in the community came, and we had this huge forum, and they listened to him. And if something were going on in the community, the first person that they would call was Rev. Smith," said McNeely.McNeely says the forums started at the church but then moved to Channel 10 when attendance got too large. "His legacy is going to help the community to grow, everything he did, and wanted to do," said McNeely.Members of the congregation spoke to 10News Sunday. "He was a person who would never say no to anyone if you asked him to do. If he couldn't do it, he found someone who could," Jewel Kelley, a member of the church said. Rev.
