CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ind. — A Wisconsin man drowned on Sunday when he jumped into a southern Indiana lake in an effort to save two women who fell off a towable tube and were struggling to stay afloat.According to a report from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, an Indiana conservation officer was on boat patrol on Patoka Lake in Crawford County around 2:51 p.m. Sunday when witnesses alerted him to a possible drowning. Multiple 911 calls came in shortly after reporting that a man had disappeared in the water.Conservation officers said two females were aboard the towable tube affixed to a stationary rental boat by a rope when they fell off the tube and struggled to stay afloat.Multiple people from the rental boat jumped in to assist and rescued one of the females. One of the people who jumped in to help, Travis Ray St. Martin, 33, of Racine, Wisc., disappeared under the water.The other female, K'neisha Adams, 25, of Burke, Virginia, was rescued by a group of people from a separate boat. She was taken by medical helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital and later released.Conservation officer public safety divers recovered St. Martin's body around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.The Crawford County Coroner's Office has preliminarily ruled the cause of death as accidental drowning.Conservation officers said alcohol and drugs are not suspected of being contributing factors.The DNR said although there were adequate life jackets on the rental boat, none were in use.This story was originally published by Bob Blake at WRTV. 1545

Coca-Cola has introduced a touch-free soda machine amid the coronavirus pandemic.In a press release, the company launched the Coca-Cola Freestyle dispenser, which they say is contactless.“All Coca-Cola beverage dispensers are safe with recommended care and cleaning,” said Chris Hellmann, vice president, and general manager, Coca-Cola Freestyle in the release. “But given these uncertain times, people may prefer a touchless fountain experience. It has been exciting to see our team continuing to innovate – mostly from home – to meet the evolving needs of customers and consumers. CLEVELAND, Ohio - The City of Cleveland is aware of 11 COVID-19 cases “stemming from pre-debate planning and set-up,” according to a news release from the city sent Friday afternoon.The city said the majority of cases occurred among out-of-state residents, and at this time, no Cleveland residents have contracted the virus as a result of the debate.The City of Cleveland is working with the Ohio Department of Health, the CDC, and the Cleveland Clinic to contact, interview, issue isolation orders and provide guidance to the individuals who tested positive as part of the debate, the release states.The city’s current contact tracing process involves interviewing the person who tested positive, asking who they live with, who they care for, what work they do, and if they have attended any mass gatherings.Those whose cases stem from the debate will also be asked who they are employed by, who they were in contact with at the debate, how they got to the debate, how long they were there, and if they did any traveling or attended any other mass gatherings recently.Cleveland officials advise anyone who has come in contact with someone who tested positive to self-quarantine. Anyone who was in attendance at the debate who has concerns or symptoms should contact their healthcare provider.“With this event, we know a large number of those in attendance live in another state,” the city stated. “That is why our partnerships with ODH and the CDC are vital.”On Friday, 92 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Cuyahoga County, the largest number in nearly a month. CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — A Florida family says they were recently targeted by a terrifying kidnapping scam.Katie and Steve Watson live in Coral Springs, Florida and want to warn families about the crime.Katie tells WPTV that she received a call on Monday from a number she didn’t recognize. On the line she heard a whimpering child, then a mysterious man say he had kidnapped Katie’s daughter, Chloe."All of a sudden a man's voice came on the line, and he said, 'Katie I have your daughter. She's in the back of my van,' " Watson told WPTV on Tuesday.Katie said she quickly hung up, feeling in her gut that it was scam. "That's really part of what gave me the chills was somebody calling me by my name," said Watson. "That was unsettling."Katie says she figured it was a scam, but then got a bad feeling when she checked her daughter’s location through her phone's GPS.It initially said her daughter was at Westglades Middle School in Parkland, which Chloe attends. But then the GPS suddenly jumped to another location in Parkland.Upon further investigation, the Watsons found that her daughter was indeed at school, and more importantly, safe."I got chills all over my body and I was like, OK, I know that was a scam but that's like every parent's worst nightmare is to hear your kid has been kidnapped," said Watson.The FBI calls this a virtual kidnapping scam and says it’s evolved over the years and become more sophisticated.In the calls, a crook says he’s kidnapped your loved one and demands money in exchange for their safe return.In the Watsons' case, however, the scam was taken to a frightening new level with the use of a whimpering child on the line.The FBI offers these tips so you don’t become a victim: 1748
