She claims the village is trying to "skirt the law" by declaring her property as a blighted area on the development site."This area doesn't qualify for the new definition of blight that the Wisconsin Legislature put in Chapter 32 that says the properties are dilapidated or deteriorated, or run down, or are a safety or health risk," said Mahoney."I don't think its fair to characterize it that we are skirting any laws," said DeGroot. "We are being very upfront, very forthright, very transparent with how we are going about this process. MIRAMAR, Calif. (KGTV) - Two young boys died Friday night after their mother crashed into a semi-trailer on the side of the I-15 freeway. Israel and Adrian Lemus were heading home with their mother when she swerved into the shoulder near Miramar Road and collided with the back of the trailer. The mother was taken to the hospital with broken bones and a brain bleed. Family says she is stable but has been in and out of consciousness. The family had been heading back from Menifee where they were celebrating Israel’s birthday. He was going to turn 11 on Saturday. “They were very happy in the last moments,” said Lidia Lemus, their cousin, who was at the party. “It’s very surreal right now,” she said. “They had their whole lives ahead of them.” The family says the mother was not under the influence when she left the party. MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — A Milwaukee County Supervisor has issued an apology after he used a song by rapper Cardi B to promote a weatherization program.Supervisor Ryan Clancy apologized and stated that his Facebook post "landed badly" after he used a photo of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion from the music video for the song"WAP" to promote the Weatherization Assistance Program.According to the Milwaukee County website, the program provides qualified Milwaukee County residents with a one-time annual payment toward heating and electric bills.The song includes the line "there's some wh**es in this house." In text overlaid on the still from the music video, Clancy wrote, "there's some holes in this house," referencing the need to weatherize homes before it gets too cold.Clancy made another connection to the song by abbreviating the Weatherization Assistance Program as "WAP."Following the post from Clancy, the weatherization program asked Clancy to take down his post because it didn't read well to some viewers.Clancy did just that and posted a comment on top of the original post, and deleted the photo.Clancy said he initially used the photo in an effort to "draw attention to both this excellent program and to a song which has at its core a message about empowerment, reclaiming and destigmatization." 1317

NATIONAL CITY (CNS) - Stephen Manganiello will take over as acting city manager of National City in April, retiring city manager Leslie Deese announced Wednesday.Manganiello will begin his new role on April 2, when Deese is set to retire after serving in the National City government for 33 years. She has served as city manager since 2012, when the City Council unanimously appointed her to the post.According to Deese's office, some of her chief accomplishments in office include establishing a pension fund, helping the city reach an A+ bond rating and securing several multi-million dollar grants.Manganiello has served in the National City government for 12 years and has served in a dual role as the director of public works/city engineer since 2012."The City Council and I wish the very best for Leslie (Deese) on her retirement and are excited to have Acting City Manager Steve Manganiello, who is a familiar voice at the table, to help us continue to move city business forward," National City Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis said in a statement.Manganiello will serve as acting city manager until a permanent city manager is chosen, according to the city.
