(KGTV) — An elderly driver led Los Angeles-area officers on a slow-speed pursuit on the 101 Freeway Wednesday, before being taken into custody.The driver began the pursuit with California Highway Patrol officers just after 1 p.m. in the San Gabriel Valley area, according ABC-affiliate KABC. CHP officers tried to pull the driver's SUV over for a carpool violation but the vehicle continued down the freeway, KABC reported.Officers followed the driver at normal highway speeds through Glendale and into the San Fernando Valley, before officers pulled in front of the driver's SUV and slowed the vehicle down.As officers approached the vehicle, the driver was cooperative and stepped out of the vehicle without incident.The driver, who appeared to be an elderly man, seemed disoriented as officers took him into custody, KABC reported. 842

(KGTV) — As of Jan. 1, 2020, Californians won't have to pay sales tax on diapers or menstrual products for two years.The temporary ban is thanks to Senate Bull 92, which was signed into law by Gov. (KGTV) -- Firefighters battling the Carr Fire went beyond the call of duty, taking care of a fish left behind by a family forced to evacuate.According to a tweet from Cal Fire, a father informed his daughter that their fish most likely didn’t survive.When they arrived home, they were greeted with a well-fed fish and a note from the firefighters.The note reads, “Fed your fish a few sprinkles. Sorry if we weren’t supposed to.” As of Sunday morning, the tweet had racked up more than 10,000 likes and retweets. 519

(CNN) -- House Republicans on Saturday submitted a list of witnesses they'd like to testify as part of the chamber's impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump and Ukraine.In a letter to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, Republicans listed the anonymous whistleblower, former Vice President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, former US special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker, high-raking State Department official David Hale and Tim Morrison, the top Russia and Europe adviser on the National Security Council. Saturday marked Republicans' deadline to submit the request.The GOP also requested Nellie Ohr, a former Fusion GPS contractor, and Alexandra Chalupa, a former Democratic National Committee staffer, signaling that Republicans still want to focus on unsubstantiated claims related to the 2016 presidential campaign.Democrats must approve any requests submitted by Republicans and they are expected to reject the requests for Hunter Biden and the whistleblower to appear.CNN has reached out to attorneys for the whistleblower and Hunter Biden for comment.In the letter, California Rep. Devin Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, bashed what he called a "sham impeachment process."
