Pope Francis has removed Bishop Martin Holley of Memphis, Tennessee, the Vatican announced on Wednesday.Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville will run the diocese in Holley's absence, the Vatican said.In a statement, the Diocese of Memphis said Holley's removal follows an "apostolic visitation" -- churchspeak for a Vatican-led investigation -- in June 2018. Someone painted a swastika on the side of a Jewish family’s home and poured some type of chemical on their car Sunday night. Shawn Seibert lives in the house with his mother. He says he heard noises around 11:20 p.m. and went outside, only to see two people away. That’s when he noticed the swastika on the side of their house and the damage to his car. Sunday night was the start of Hanukkah.“When you see it, it just shakes you down to your core,” Seibert said. “How can someone do something like that to someone they don’t know?” The community came together Monday to show their support for the Seiberts. Several dozen people gathered at the corner of Poway and Community Roads with signs preaching against hate, as drivers honked their horns in support of the rally. Pregnant women with COVID-19 face more possible risks, a new study has found.The study, which was published Tuesday in the British Medical Journal, revealed that pregnant women in the hospital with the virus are less likely to show symptoms but are more likely to be admitted to the intensive care unit.The researchers also stated that pregnant women are more likely to deliver preterm, and the newborns were more likely to be admitted to the neonatal unit."Other factors that increased the risk of severe COVID-19 in these women included being older, being overweight, and having pre-existing medical conditions such as hypertension or diabetes," researchers said.The study also stated that when compared with non-pregnant women of reproductive age, pregnant and recently pregnant women with COVID-19 were less likely to say they had a fever.Researchers said they analyzed 77 studies and looked at 11,432 pregnant women.The study, which was partially funded by the World Health Organization, was done by researchers in the United Kingdom, the US, Spain, China, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. 1103

(KGTV) -- The Blue Sky Ecological Reserve will reopen Saturday after it temporarily closed when a four-year-old was attacked by a mountain lion, according to The California Department of Fish and Wildlife.The department received a call around 2:40 p.m. Friday about a child with scratches on his back and thigh.Park officials say a family was on a hike when the incident occurred. "The child was with a lot of family members which is a good thing and it sounds like the family separated into two groups and the child may have been darting back and forth," Fish and Wildlife Public Information Officer Tim Daly said that could have made him vulnerable to the attack.The City of Poway notified the department of fish and wildlife.He was taken to the hospital, Daly said, to collect evidence in hopes of finding the mountain lion who attacked him.Daly said more than 50% of California is mountain lion habitat, adding it's important not to leave out pet food and keep pets and children close while outdoors in mountain lion territory. 1053
