A rocket ship designed and built by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company has lifted off with two Americans on a history-making flight to the International Space Station. The spacecraft took off Saturday afternoon from the same launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida, that was used during the Apollo missions to the moon a half-century ago. It’s the first time a private company is launching NASA astronauts to space and the first time in nine years that American astronauts are departing from U.S. soil.Since the end of the space shuttle program in 2011, NASA astronauts have been hitching rides to the International Space Station onboard Russian Soyuz rockets launched from Kazakhstan.The astronauts undertaking this mission are Robert Behnken and Doug Hurley. After eliminating free samples at its locations in March due to the spread of the coronavirus, Costco said on its quarterly earnings call this week that it plans on resuming samples in mid-June. Costco has made significant changes within stores in recent months due to the virus. Costco resumed May 4 after reducing hours, but is now requiring customers and employees to wear masks. Costco has also placed limits on some fresh meats. “We're going to start doing some things in mid-June on a slow rollout basis in sampling,” Costco CFO Richard Galanti said. “I can't tell you anymore, but needless to say it’s not going to be where you go and just pick up an open sample with your fingers. AKRON, Ohio — More than 200 Ellet High School students received their diplomas Friday night at Akron Civic Theatre in Ohio. Among them was an 87-year-old man getting an honorary diploma, 70 years after he left school for the military.Floyd Edward Hoskins, known to friends and family members as Ed, left Ellet High School in 1949 at age 17 to join the military.“Three years, three months, 19 days,” Hoskins said of his total time in the Army. During that time, he said, he was supposed to serve in Korea but was sent to Alaska for two years instead.When he came home, Hoskins said he initially had trouble finding a job but eventually landed one at Goodyear Tire and Rubber, where he worked for “44 years, four months, three weeks and one day.”Hoskins moved to Hawaii two years ago to live with one of his sons and his daughter-in-law. His daughter-in-law, Cynthia Allen Hoskins, began doing some research into veterans’ benefits.“We are retired military, my husband and I,” Cynthia Allen Hoskins said. “And we were doing some research as far as our kids and their benefits in order to continue their college education.”She ran across information about the benefits the State of Ohio provides to veterans, where she learned her father-in-law might be eligible to receive his high school diploma. It’s just a piece of paper,’ ” Cynthia Allen Hoskins said. “But after we explained to him, ‘Dad, you know, you really pushed education on us, we push it onto the grandkids. An American Airlines pilot based out of Dallas-Fort Worth has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement from the airline obtained by ABC News. American Airline said the Chief Medical Officer and leaders from the pilots' office have been in touch with the pilot. Often, what looks like a free offer has fine print that results in a consumer getting unwanted products which are charged to your debit or credit cards.The internet and social media are filled with "free trial" offers promising you a chance to get a free product for a small shipping charge.However, the BBB found that many times people are not reading the fine print, which can be misleading and says a person is actually subscribing to receive products over time.Some New York victims have lost hundreds of dollars. And the problem is growing. The Federal Trade Commission reported the number of "free trial" complaints nearly doubling from 2015 to 2017.An investigation by the Better Business Bureau found that 72 percent of victims are women because the fraudulent ads often promote skin care products.In addition, the BBB found scammers are falsely claiming celebrities, like Oprah Winfrey and others, are endorsing their products.You can read the BBB investigation 1123
