Celebration and pride turned into tragedy for a small city in Alabama after gunfire erupted during a high school graduation party.One person was killed and eight others were wounded at a community center in Atmore, near the Florida border, early Saturday.Witnesses say a fight broke out between two women during a graduation party for Escambia County High School's seniors. As people were trying to separate the two women, police said, gunshots were fired inside that hit several people.Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks told CNN officers responded to a 911 call for shots fired at the community center around 2 a.m. Saturday. Once officers got to the scene, shots were still being fired and police found one man dead in the center's cafeteria. CLEVELAND — A Florida cat who has been missing for eight years was found in Ohio. Barley was found by her family 10 years ago as a six-week-old kitten in a dumpster in Tampa Bay, according to a Facebook post by Angels for Animals, the Canfield, Ohio, animal shelter that identified the cat.Two years after her family found her, they moved to another home. During the move, Barley and her cat big brother Spike got outside and were never seen again. Barley traveled 1,100 miles to Canfield over eight years. She was brought in to Angels for Animals as a stray cat last week, and the staff discovered she was micro-chipped. On Wednesday, the shelter was able to get in touch with her owners in Florida. The shelter is now working with the family to figure out how to get Barley back to Florida. 805

Donald Trump's lawyers want the Washington court fight over Trump's accounting records to slow down.A recent congressional subpoena for the records could reveal financial information about Trump to Democrats in Congress, but the President says a federal judge is moving too quickly.On Monday, private attorneys representing Trump and his companies disagreed with a federal judge's decision to hold a comprehensive court hearing about the subpoena on Tuesday in Washington, according to court filings.The President's attorneys say they are not being given a fair shot in court, and have asked the judge to either narrow the topics covered in the hearing Tuesday or cancel the hearing outright."Because the hearing is tomorrow, the court's consolidation will force plaintiffs to try their case on only four days' notice, with no discovery, with little opportunity to assemble evidence, before Defendants have filed a single pleading, with no idea which facts are actually in dispute, and without a round of briefing focused on the merits," the President's legal team wrote.Congress' attorneys, however, said they are ready for the case to proceed as scheduled on Tuesday and do not want Tuesday's hearing to be canceled. The scheduled court hearing would be the first in a growing set of legal disputes between the Democratic-led House of Representatives and those it has subpoena for Trump's financial records.So far, Trump has sued the accounting firm Mazars USA as well as two banks, Deutsche Bank and Capitol One, to stop them from fulfilling House subpoenas. Separately, the Treasury Department has pushed back against Congress' request for Trump's tax returns held by the IRS.The accounting firm and banks haven't taken sides in the cases.
