According to the district in the report, the 2018-19 budget had a ,220,001 deficit.The report stated that the district's salary and benefits costs "continue to increase year after year at a rate greater than revenue growth."The college district "has a high probability of fiscal insolvency in the near future" at its current pace, the report warned. The report adds that in two years the district "will have consumed all reserves and will be forced to borrow .5 million from an external source to remain solvent."The district said placing Blake on leave was not as a disciplinary action but "as a precautionary measure to protect all parties." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a driver who reportedly hit two people crossing the street in East Village before running away. According to San Diego Police, the incident happened on the 300 block of 14th Street around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were crossing 14th street in an unmarked crosswalk when the driver of a Ford Mustang attempted to make a U-turn, lost control and hit the pair. The crash left the woman pinned against the wall with a fractured hip and the man with abrasions, according to police. The driver ran away from the scene on foot and has yet to be located, police say. 658

Police say they contacted thousand of people on the sand to educate them about proper use of the beaches, but no citations were issued for violation of the county and state order. "We encounter very good crowds and received little to no opposition and gained compliance," a spokesperson for the department said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police have identified the man stabbed to death in a Pacific Beach bathroom this week.San Diego Police said officers were called on Sunday to a public restroom at 700 Grand Ave. to reports of a man who had been stabbed. Nearby lifeguards and firefighters were the first to arrive and started providing first aid to the man.Police said the victim, 39-year-old Michael Wagley, had puncture wounds to his upper torso and was taken to a nearby hospital, but died of his injuries.
