(KGTV) -- New details emerged Monday in a warrant released after a man is accused of poisoning his wife.A search warrant revealed that the woman had been sick for months and had no idea what was going on with her.According to the warrant, the young mother began to feel sick in September, then started feeling better before her condition worsened in January.She suffered hair loss, no longer had the strength to walk or open a door and had to be helped around by family members and her extremities even became like dead weights, according to the warrant.RELATED: East San Diego County man suspected of poisoning his wife with Thallium The warrant goes on to say that she suffered major loss of use of her extremities and was near death.Doctors determined that she received thallium poisoning by oral ingestion. Thallium is a chemical element used in rat poison and ant killers.Investigators determined that the poisoning could have only been done by someone with personal access to the food and drinks she consumed.According to the warrant, her husband Race Remington Uto, 27, had the most access to commit the crimes.Investigators searched the couple’s home in Dulzura and confiscated laptops, a coffee blender, four cups and other electronics.The warrant also shows that Race had an affair while he was deployed in the Navy and that the couple had gone through counseling.Race told detectives he has no idea how his wife came into contact with the poison. She also said she had no idea who would want to hurt her.The warrant shows the victim thought she may have been exposed to the poison while working in an old school building. 1661

EL PASO, Texas - A cathedral in El Paso was vandalized while the church was open and available for prayer Tuesday morning.The Diocese of El Paso says a suspect came into the sanctuary at St. Patrick Cathedral around 10 a.m. and destroyed an almost 90-year-old statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was located in the center behind the main altar.“I am in shock and we at the Cathedral are heartbroken over such an unexpected situation,” said The Rector of St. Patrick Cathedral, Fr. Trini Fuentes.The suspect has been detained by the El Paso Police Department, officials said.“This statue is one of my favorite representations of Jesus—his arms open wide in welcome, his heart aflame with love for us. I would often take inspiration from this image as I prepared for Mass,” said Bishop Seitz. “As sad as I am to see a statue attacked and destroyed, I am grateful that it was not a living person. But a statue, particularly this statue, concretizes and connects us to persons and ideals that are not visible to our eyes. EL CAJON (KGTV) -- In response to growing concerns of the rapidly spreading coronavirus, Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District officials have announced that they will be canceling in-person classes for a week as a precautionary measure.Grossmont and Cuyamaca college campuses will close the week of March 16-20 and temporarily shift to online instruction as a precautionary measure.“We are taking these extraordinary measures out of an abundance of caution,” said Chancellor Lynn Neault. “We are doing everything we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our students, employees and the public, while ensuring that our student can complete their classes.”The colleges join numerous local and national institutions that are also announcing face-to-face instruction to quell the spread of coronavirus, including Chula Vista's Southwestern College, San Diego State University, and USD.Non-instructional employees will be on site during their regular work hours, according to officials."All student events for the next two weeks are canceled, and intercollegiate athletics games are cancelled through March 29.
