(KGTV) — As of Jan. 1, 2020, Californians won't have to pay sales tax on diapers or menstrual products for two years.The temporary ban is thanks to Senate Bull 92, which was signed into law by Gov. (KGTV) - An earthquake struck northern Mexico’s Baja California peninsula Monday, causing tremors felt in San Diego County.The 4.8 quake was located near Alberto Oviedo Mota at 12:18 p.m.The initial quake was followed by a 3.3 aftershock in the same area seven minutes later.Alberto Oviedo Mota is roughly 160 miles from San Diego. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the shaking in San Diego County was in the II-III or IV categories, meaning weak to light. The strongest shaking reported in the U.S. was in El Centro, which was considered moderate.There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries. 626

(KGTV) — Firefighters battled a vegetation fire north of Fallbrook Saturday afternoon.Cal Fire firefighters reported the brush fire near the intersection of Deluz Rd. and Santa Margarita Trail in the Deluz area, north of Fallbrook.Dubbed the Santa Fire, the blaze was at 6 acres and 0% contained just before 2 p.m. Fire crews said there was no immediate structure threat in the area. Just before 2:30 p.m., Cal Fire reported that forward rate had been stopped and crews would remain on scene "to mop-up and build containment line."It's not clear how the fire began. 573

(KGTV) -- A man was arrested at a rest stop near Camp Pendleton after a woman called 911 to report that he kidnapped her during their date in Orange County.At around 12:30 a.m. Monday, the California Highway Patrol received an emergency call from a woman claiming she was on a date with a man in Costa Mesa when he allegedly took her against her will.According to the CHP, the pair were at a viewpoint off southbound Interstate 5 near the San Onofre Nuclear Station when she jumped out of the man’s pickup truck and called 911.As Camp Pendleton police and CHP officers responded to the incident, the man drove away. He later pulled over at a rest stop further down southbound I-5 and was taken into custody.No other information on the incident was immediately released. 777
