WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump says 22 people in the U.S. have been stricken by the new coronavirus and additional cases in the United States are “likely.” Trump provided an update on the virus after the first reported U.S. death Saturday, whom he described as a woman in her late 50s who was a high medical risk. Additionally, the administration said it’s banning travel to Iran in response to the outbreak of the new coronavirus and it's elevating travel warnings to regions of Italy and South Korea. The president says that healthy Americans should be able to recover if they contract the new virus. The virus threat has spooked global markets and the public at large. Trump is cautioning that “there’s no reason to panic at all.” Trump’s remarks came a day after he denounced criticism of his response to the threat as a “hoax" cooked up by his political enemies. This was the second presser Trump held over the virus this week. On Wednesday, he announced that Vice President Mike Pence would lead the country in combating COVID-19 and said his administration is prepared for what is to come.WATCH SATURDAY'S PRESS CONFERENCE BELOW: 1163

2018 has been a tumultuous year in Washington — we've seen unprecedented turnover in the White House, the passings of two political statesmen, and indictments of several Trump associates as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation (which still continues full speed ahead). The holidays, however, are a time to be hopeful. As the second year of the Trump administration comes to a close, here are five moments from this year's political news that everyone can find something to smile about, no matter your political leaning.1. Michelle Obama and George W. Bush's friendshipSince President Barack Obama took office, protocol has placed these two next to each other during official events. Former first lady Michelle Obama and former President George W. Bush have been spotted hugging, joining hands and just seeming to enjoy one another's company over the years, but their friendship went on full display earlier this year at the late Sen. John McCain's funeral. The two shared a sweet moment (and social media virality) when Bush handed Obama a cough drop in their row of former presidents and first ladies. At his own father's funeral later in the year, Bush repeated the gesture, handing Obama another small item from his pocket when he greeted her.In an interview in November, Obama said that her friendship with 43 "reminds us that we can get there with the right leadership and with the right tone setting and with each of us giving one another the benefit of the doubt.""I'd love if we as a country could get back to the place where we didn't demonize people who disagreed with us," she added.2. Valerie Grantham is like a lot of people who have desk jobs. "I’m very sedentary when I’m not working out,” she says. “I work at least 9 or 10 hours a day, sitting at a computer." Three to four times a week, she gets her exercise in. But she says as she's gotten older, it's a lot harder to recover. That's why she decided to try the latest fitness craze: a stretch studio. "A lot of times when we see people with tight glutes, we see a lot of back pain," says Ben Yates, a stretch practitioner and general manager at the 538
