They say people who survived the pandemic were later immune to infection of the H1N1 flu, also referred to as swine flu.Health experts warn that relying on community infection to create herd immunity could be dangerous; there are questions about how long the antibodies created by infection protect against reinfection, and a high level of community infection could lead to overwhelmed medical facilities and a high number of deaths.When the threshold of herd immunity is reached, it means the vast majority of a population is vaccinated and has antibodies, thereby lowering the overall amount of community spread of the virus. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after police in El Cajon say she reportedly stabbed her grandmother. The department received a 911 call around 10:18 a.m. from a woman who said her grandmother was stabbed during a burglary on the 1200 block of North Mollison Avenue. After officers arrived, they found the woman who appeared to have been stabbed several times. The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. After investigating the stabbing, police determined that the woman’s adult granddaughter, Elektra Del Sol, 19, was responsible for the crime. She was arrested and booked into jail. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- A standoff in El Cajon ended Thursday afternoon after a man barricaded himself inside an apartment. According to police, the incident began unfolding before 1 p.m. near the intersection of Jamacha Road and Dorothy Street. Police told 10News the standoff was sparked due to a domestic incident at The Grove apartments.Police could be seen blocking off the street as officers stood near their patrol cars in the rain. Neighbors watched in awe from across the street."We heard the cops say that he made a comment saying he was going to burn the apartment down," said Christina Messenger. The man shattered the glass of the windows several times from the inside the first floor unit. At one point, he poked his head out to yell at officers. "You just don’t know whats going on in there," said Sherry Quijada. "You don’t know whether hes gonna pull a gun out and start shooting. You don’t know what someone like that is capable of."Eventually, a K9 officer was sent in, ending the hours-long standoff.
