Surveillance video recorded one year ago shows Granowitz at the crosswalk of Grape and Fern streets. Before she can safely cross, a car hits her. Witnesses rushed to help as the car took off. Police later tracked down the driver, who pleaded guilty to the crash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Rock Church is making holiday giving even easier, teaming up with Express Feedback for Good to raise money for their Toys for Joy campaign.Under the new program, people can sign up to take on-line surveys. For each one they take, the Church will get towards their holiday fundraiser."This is a life or death situation for some kids and some families," says Pastor Miles McPherson.The Toys for Joy program is now in its 23rd year. Each year the Church helps around 20,000 families with food, clothing, toys, and more for the holidays. McPherson says he hopes the new survey tool will inspire people to do more."The express feedback tool gives people the opportunity to do something to help somebody, but we want them to take the next step, touch a person, smile at a person, hear someone's story," he says.The surveys only take about one minute each, and there's a limit of 100 per person. The Church says they hope to raise 0,000 from the surveys, to help supplement the other donations they get each year.The company, Express Feedback for Good, takes the information from the survey and sells it to businesses to help them serve their customers better."It's a win/win for both parties," says Product Manager Dena Coykendall. Friday, March 1, the university will host a special birthday party for the author, which coincides with National Read Across America Day. The celebration will include cake, carnival games, a read-a-thon, giant inflatable Suess characters and, of course, a selfie station.The event will also include a reading from “Happy Birthday to You!” in honor of the classic book's 60th anniversary. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Sockers announced Saturday that former team and North American Soccer League executive Jack Daley has died.Daley, 82, died on March 7 at his San Diego home, the team said. A cause of death was not immediately released.From 1981 to 1984, Daley was a managing partner for the Sockers, and prior to that, general manager of the Toronto Metros from 1971 to 1973 and then NASL Seattle Sounders from 1974 to 1981.During his time in Seattle, he helped the team to its first two Soccer Bowl championship games and iconic players to the city, according to the Seattle Times. He's credited with helping cement the Sounders as a household name in Seattle, before the league folded. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The race for California's 50th Congressional District is zeroing in on two candidates following Super Tuesday.Former City Councilmember Carl DeMaio conceded Tuesday, leaving the path clear for the March Primary's top two vote-getters Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar and Former Republican Rep. Darrell Issa."While I am disappointed, I am filled with two other emotions: gratitude for supporters like you and pride in the incredible campaign we ran," DeMaio's statement read. "In the coming days I will share more details of how we will deploy our political operation as we pivot to the November election and hope you will be willing to continue to be involved in the fight."Campa-Najjar topped the nine-candidate field with 36 percent of the vote, followed by Issa with 23 percent, DeMaio with 20 percent, and Sen.
