WASHINGTON, Mo. - A Missouri middle schooler died this weekend due to complications from COVID-19.The School District of Washington, Missouri, said eighth-grader Peyton Baumgarth was hospitalized due to the virus's symptoms and passed away over the weekend.Superintendent Lori VanLeer said in a letter to parents, the district extends its "heartfelt sympathy" to his family and asked the public to respect their privacy.She wrote that the family asks everyone to follow COVID-19 safety precautions such as washing hands and wearing masks. "COVID-19 is real, and they want to remind students and parents to take these precautions in and outside of school," VanLeer wrote.Additional counselors will be available at the school Wednesday, according to the letter.Peyton's last day at school was Oct. 22. VanLeer said the school was informed he was in quarantine on Oct. 26.According to local media stations KMOV and KSDK, Baumgarth was the state's youngest victim of the deadly virus. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department has seized millions of dollars from cryptocurrency accounts used by militant organizations based abroad, including the Islamic State group and al-Qaida. Officials say the groups relied on the account to raise money for their operations. Officials are describing it as the largest-ever seizure of digital currency funds related to terrorism. The Trump administration says the groups used the accounts to solicit donations for their causes, including through a bogus scam that officials say purported to sell protective gear for the coronavirus pandemic. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Homeland Security is moving 1 million from FEMA, the Coast Guard and other agencies to fund immigration detention beds and support its policy forcing asylum seekers to wait in Mexico.Homeland Security officials say they will transfer 5 million for temporary hearing spaces along the U.S.-Mexico border to help hear asylum cases faster. They will also transfer 6 million to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention bed space, though Congress specifically did not authorize additional ICE funding.Democratic House lawmakers are objecting. WELLINGTON, Fla. - Golf courses and grade-schoolers don’t always go hand in hand but for one 6-year-old in Wellington, it’s a perfect match.The first-grader in question is Brian “Little B” Kelley. He has a long list of hobbies, but at the top of the list is golf.“Every night I have dreams about golf,” said Kelley.He picked it up from his dad, Brian “Big B” Kelley, an admittedly average golfer. The two spent plenty of weekends watching pro golfers on TV before Little B could even talk.
