SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police officers chased down two drivers in stolen cars, but only one man was arrested early Wednesday morning.According to San Diego Police, officers spotted a BMW that had just been stolen driving down Hotel Circle South in Mission Valley around 2 a.m. They followed the car, which appeared to be following another car, a black Dodge Charger.When officers tried to pull them over, both drivers sped off in different directions.Just when officers thought they lost the BMW, they found it in a Serra Mesa neighborhood. They moved in with their guns drawn and surrounded the car, but no one was inside.Officers eventually found the suspect hiding in a nearby shed and took him into custody.The driver of the Dodge Charger led officers towards Mission Valley, but that car was later found abandoned behind a Verizon store. 847

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than a hundred family and friends gathered for a memorial service Friday morning at St. Therese Catholic Church in Del Cerro, to remember Julia Jacobson.The retired U.S. Army Captain disappeared over Labor Day weekend and is believed to have been murdered, the priest talking of the "sting of death" and "death so sinful."Julia's car was discovered abandoned near her home in University Heights but there's been no sign of her or her dog, Boogie, despite many searches - which are ongoing.RELATED: Ex-husband of missing Army veteran arrested on suspicion of murderJulia was divorced. It wasn't a friendly parting and the ex-husband, Dalen Ware, was arrested in Phoenix last month; charged with her murder and currently awaiting trial.Friday, though, a tearful farewell for a lost friend.Jamie Mann described her as a battle buddy during the Iraq war."There isn't a day goes by I don't think of that girl and how she made me a better leader; just a better woman; and she loved everybody, touched so many people hearts, and she'll never be forgotten," Mann said.RELATED: Scholarship set up in memory of missing Army veteran Julia JacobsonJulia's brother, Jon, said one of his biggest honors was to pin Julia's lieutenant's bars on her."I was very proud of her; her service in Iraq, Serbia a little while. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Multiple former students of San Diego's Christian Youth Theater, known as CYT, are coming forward with stories of sexual assault, abuse and misconduct.On the phone Tuesday, the president of CYT confirmed that one of her own close family members claims that he was even abused when he was in CYT many years ago.On its Facebook page, the El Cajon-based theater group has acknowledged recent accusations of sex abuse from former students.Part of its statement reads, “We are deeply saddened to learn about statements that have recently been made on social media involving former CYT students, and we want you to know that we take these allegations very seriously…We have been working tirelessly on these issues with the authorities, outside consultants, staff, and the Board of Directors since they were brought to our attention…"San Diego attorney Jessica Pride said Tuesday that she's representing a former student who claims she was sexually abused starting in 2006. “The first time she was 13 and it continued until she was 15-years-old,” said Pride.The after-school theater arts training program was founded 40 years ago and is for students ranging from 4-years-old to 18-years-old. On its website, CYT writes that its grown to be the largest youth theater program in the nation with branches across the country, training thousands of students a year.Tuesday, CYT President Janie Russell Cox would not confirm the number of alleged victims or whether the accusations of abuse were between just students or students and teachers, but said claims have come from alumni- not current students.Cox confirmed that her close family member publicly posted on social media his own account of abuse from many years ago. She said she's heartbroken and wants to be transparent and will provide an on-camera interview in the upcoming days.Pride said dozens of other former students are now contacting the firm. “The phone has been ringing off the hook with survivors who are calling and want to tell their story and want to make sure that CYT changes,” she added.San Diego Police told ABC10 News Tuesday that its Sex Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation in which there is an association with CYT.An advocate for several of the alleged victims is asking for any other possible victims to come forward. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One year ago, life forever changed for Navy EOD technician Kenton Stacy and his family.He was in a Syrian hospital clearing IEDs when one exploded, leaving him with a two percent chance of survival. His comrades fought to save his life and did, but Kenton was left paralyzed and unable to talk.He's now receiving care at the VA Medical Center in La Jolla.“We’re all ready for him to come home, it's just been hard juggling being here, being with the kids," said Lindsey Stacy, Kenton's wife.The couple has four children, one with special needs.As they work through Kenton's recovery, the family was hit with yet another unexpected hardship.They've been renting their Chesapeake, VA home for the last two years, not realizing tenants were destroying the house.The carpet and blinds were destroyed as well as much of the hardwood floors. The tenants also smoked cigarettes in the home."I just couldn't believe that people would destroy someone else’s property like that, shocking and it hurt,” said Lindsey.She shared what happened on their Facebook page #StacyStrong.It didn't take long for the community to step up and help make it right, with members of the EOD community spending hours to repair the house.Real estate agent Julie Fish, wife of an EOD tech, also stepped up to help.She's going to help sell the house without taking a commission and has enlisted help for labor and needed repairs. "The EOD community, they really have made it that they're taking care of it and it's one less thing I have to worry about," said Lindsey. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Monday evening, a city official put inspection tags the doors of the Barrio Logan warehouse where a platform collapsed this weekend, injuring 21 minors and a few adults. It happened Saturday night at Vault PK parkour gym on Main Street. The facility is closed until further notice.RELATED: Structure collapses at Barrio Logan parkour centerOn Monday, inspectors with the city of San Diego toured the warehouse as part of their investigation, which is still in its preliminary stages. A city spokesperson told us there are "definite code violations" and permit issues, but no further details were released. Cal/OSHA was notified of the incident but is not investigating since no workers were injured. Team 10 verified that Vault PK's business license became active in July. On the gym's Facebook page, it appears the owner posted in June that her father and brother were working on much of the construction of the gym. RELATED:?Investigation underway in platform collapse at San Diego parkour gymMonday afternoon, Team 10 spoke to a local father whose wife, son and daughter were at the gym at the time of the collapse. He didn't want his name used but said his son sustained injuries to his foot and his wife has a broken foot. There's no word on when she'll be released.The father says he was at the parkour gym a few days before the incident and told us the facility appeared like it didn't meet proper safety standards.Vault PK also operates a facility in Torrance and told Team 10 investigator Jennifer Kastner the gym is closed for inspections. 1719
