KGTV - Two young girls were found safe after an AMBER Alert was issued Saturday evening, and the suspect is in custody, California Highway Patrol confirmed.An AMBER Alert was issued around 7:15 p.m. Saturday evening for a 2014 black and purple Dodge Challenger, California license plate 7WKZ957.The suspect, Anthony Lee Gaines, 29, called police himself after the AMBER Alert was issued, Los Angeles Police said.The girls, ages five and seven, were at their grandmother's house with the suspect, police said.This is a developing story. (KGTV) - A Jamul family is mourning the loss from COVID-19 of a former little league coach and employee at Taylor Guitars.Greg Denny came down with a sinus headache in the second week of June. A trip to the ER revealed double pneumonia. Then came a positive COVID-19 test and fever, before his wife Kim brought him back to the hospital.“Five days of fever, hadn't been able to break it. He was at 102°,” said Kim Denny.A week after Greg was admitted, he was placed on a ventilator.“It was very emotional, like a roller coaster. Good one day and then things changed that same day,” she said.Eventually, the bad days took over. His kidneys failed. So did his pancreas. Then he got a blood infection. Last Friday, Greg — an Army veteran, father of two and grandfather of four — passed away at the age of 48.“He was my soulmate, my best friend and now he's my guardian angel,” she said.Kim calls her husband a wonderful dad and grandfather.“He’s the best man I’ve ever known,” said Dillon Wulff, Greg’s adult son.For the last five years, Greg has worked in security at Taylor Guitars. For more than two decades, he has coached or volunteered for little league games in Spring Valley.In her time of grief, Kim takes comfort in the daily game they played called, "I love you more."“Whoever said it first would win. So constantly, he'd get up and say, ‘I love you more.’ I'd get up and say, ‘I love you more,’" said Kim.They would play that game until the day he went on the ventilator.As for where the origin of the COVID-19, she has no idea. He always wore masks.“My husband was very safe … So, it’s scary. People need to take every precaution that they can,” said Kim.Greg did have an underlying condition: high blood pressure. (KGTV) -- Border Patrol and a host of other government agencies are investigating after authorities found a cross-border tunnel in the east San Diego County town of Jacumba.The tunnel was discovered by Mexican State Police on September 19 just 221 feet south of the U.S./Mexico boundary.On October 4, agents found an entry point that was roughly 31 feet deep. The total length of the tunnel is 627 feet, 336 feet of which is in the United States.The average length of the tunnel was three feet high and two and a half feet wide. An exit shaft was discovered, but didn't break the surface into the U.S. RELATED: Cross-border tunnel leading to KFC found in YumaOn top of the massive tunnel, authorities discovered a complex system used to light and ventilate the tunnel. The system included solar panels used to run the electrical, lighting and ventilation systems, and a pump system used to get rid of any water inside the tunnel.Authorities didn’t say whether any arrests have been made or what the tunnel was supposed to be used for, though the Drug Enforcement Administration is one of the investigating agencies. 1149

Jeffrey Sandusky, the son of convicted sex abuser and former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, pleaded guilty Friday to all 14 counts of child sexual abuse against him.The Centre Country district attorney's office said the younger Sandusky, 41, entered the guilty pleas a week before his trial was scheduled to begin.The 14 counts included soliciting sex from a child younger than 16 and soliciting child pornography.According to the district attorney's office, Sandusky will become a Tier III sex offender, the highest level in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."The charges involve incidents with two girls, one in 2013 and one in 2016.The crimes were uncovered late last year when a girl told her father that Sandusky had texted her repeatedly, asking her to send him naked photos.The father contacted the police, and during the investigation, police discovered another girl, known as victim No. 2, who said Sandusky had asked her to engage in oral sex with him years before.Both victims say Sandusky tried to use different excuses to try to get them to participate, saying at one point that he "had studied medicine" and another time that he believed that Victim No. 1 had shared a nude photo with her boyfriend, and he wanted to see it."This outcome also ensures the victims need not suffer the trauma and re-victimization of testifying at trial and importantly, the defendant will have to comply with strict sex offender registration requirements for the remainder of his life," District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said.According to the district attorney's office, the terms of Sandusky's plea guarantee that he will serve 3 to 6 years in state incarceration "but allows the judge to impose as much as 4 to 8 years of state prison in her discretion at the time of sentencing."Tier III offenders must register with the state police for life and verify their registration information in person four times a year," according to the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.Sandusky's defense attorney could not be reached for comment.The-CNN-Wire 2071
