BALTIMORE, Maryland — It's an exciting day today for students at Matthew A. Henson Elementary School in West Baltimore, they're all going to the movies to see Black Panther! This special field trip was made possible by one of their teachers, an Orioles player, and a local DJ. It started out with this tweet from Aaron Maybin, a former NFL player who now works at Matthew Henson Elementary.RELATED: Baltimore teacher raising money to take school to see Black PantherHe sent out a tweet last week asking for help to send every student at his school to the movies so they can see Black Panther. 92 Q's DJ flow stepped up as well as Orioles center fielder Adam Jones and together they made it possible for the kids to go see the film on Tuesday. Adam Jones also recorded a message for the students. Thank you again to the homie @SimplyAJ10 for being one of our students' biggest heroes & champions. From #operationheat to this #BlackPanther surprise, you have been there whenever we were in need. I know you don't look for recognition but u are appreciated family ??? pic.twitter.com/GYWYTdDBl9— Aaron Maybin (@AaronMMaybin) February 26, 2018 1225
Brunch can be a big draw for many restaurants, including at Sam’s No. 3 Diner in Denver, where the wait time to be seated on weekends could take up to two hours.“It gets crowded on that sidewalk out there,” said owner Sam Armatas.Pre-pandemic, Armatas says the iconic downtown diner had more than 180 seats. Now, with new health restrictions, that number has been cut to 83.“Business has been affected greatly,” Armatas said. “It’s a different world, it’s a different way to operate, and it’s a different way to serve.”Less seating means less opportunities to make money which led management at Sam’s to look outside their restaurant to serve more customers.“I kind of just looked over at my neighbor and thought, ‘hey, they’re not using that patio during the day. Maybe I can use that patio during the day,’” Armatas said. “So, I got in contact with Matt.”Matt Ruff is the general manager and part owner of Dazzle, one of the top 100 jazz clubs in the world.“It’s kind of foolish not to lend our neighbors a hand during this time,” Ruff said.Ruff is lending Dazzle’s outdoor patio space to Sam’s during the day for free, a move customers seem to appreciate while industry experts are calling it a financial Band-Aid.According to the National Restaurant Association, somewhere between 15,000 to 20,000 restaurants across the country closed their doors for good during this pandemic.Experts expect that number to increase nationwide as an estimated 8,000,000 American service industry workers are already out of jobs.“We’re monthly doing the revenue we would do on a good Saturday,” Ruff said. “How do you survive with doing something like that?”So far, this partnership with Dazzle and Sam’s sharing space seems to be working out well for both businesses.“It’s been awesome,” Armatas said. ”It’s an additional 12 to 15 seats that we didn’t have before.”The plan is to continue sharing this space until these establishments are able to operate at full capacity or the weather no longer allows for outdoor seating. 2020

Bed Bath and Beyond said on Wednesday it plans on closing approximately 200 locations nationwide over the next two years. The news comes after the company temporarily closed 90% of its locations nationwide during the coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in a 77% drop of in-store sales in the spring quarter of 2020.Bed Bath and Beyond said the move to close 200 locations will right-size its real estate portfolio. The loss of 200 stores will result in a 15% reduction in the company's footprint. 505

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — The Trump administration has removed gray wolves in most of the U.S. from the endangered species list. Thursday’s action ends longstanding federal safeguards for the predators in the Lower 48 states, except for a small population of Mexican gray wolves in the Southwest. The announcement just days ahead of the election could allow hunting of the animals to resume in Great Lakes states -- a battleground region in the presidential race between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. Gray wolves have recovered from near extinction in parts of the country but remain absent from much of their historical range. Biologists who reviewed the administration’s plan to strip protection from wolves say it lacked scientific justification. 787
