(KGTV) — Washington state health officials say a patient has died of the novel coronavirus, the first COVID-19 related death in the United States.The victim was described as a male patient at EvergreenHealth Medical Center, who was in his 50s with underlying medical conditions.The governor of Washington state declared a state of emergency Saturday after a man's death.More than 50 people in a Kirkland, Wash., Life Care nursing facility are sick and being tested for the virus, health officials added. (KGTV) — White House chief of staff John Kelly will leave his position within the Trump Administration by the end of the year, President Donald Trump told reporters on Saturday afternoon.CNN on Friday reported that Kelly was expected to announce his departure in the coming days."John Kelly will be leaving ... I don't know if I can say retiring, but he's a great guy," Trump told a pool of reporters outside the White House before departing to Pennsylvania for the Army-Navy football game. "John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year. Last week, she shut her doors for good."Heartbreaking, frustrating, it felt like a relief, as well," said Sandahl.Sandahl said they made it through the initial shut down in March, but when COVID-19 cases surged in the summer, they couldn't recoup their losses."After the fourth of July, things just dropped. It was like a ghost-town," said Sandahl.The Design District on Cedros Avenue is home to dozens of unique shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Before the pandemic hit, the business owners were holding monthly outdoor strolls with live music."Leaping Lotus and The Belly Up, they were our lifeline. A 36-year-old Washington woman is claiming that a DNA test she took on Ancestry.com showed that her biological father was her parents' fertility doctor, the Washington Post reported. According to the Washington Post, Kelli Rowlette's DNA test claimed that she had a parent-child relationship with Gerald E. Mortimer, a fertility doctor in Idaho. Rowlette said she did not know her mother used artificial insemination. The doctor had diagnosed Rowlette's father with low sperm count and her mother with a tipped uterus. Mortimer recommended inseminating Rowlette's mother with sperm from both her husband and an anonymous sperm donor. According to the Washington Post, the couple asked for a donor who was at least 6-foot-tall, in college and had brown hair and blue eyes. Mortimer had told her parents that he used a match for the sperm donation. Mortimer did not meet Rowlette's parents standards for sperm donation. Mortimer was also listed as Rowlette's delivery doctor, and signed her birth certificate. A lawsuit has been filed in federal court against Mortimer for fraud and medical negligence.To read the Washington Post's full report, click here.  1273

(KGTV) —  Crews watching a tractor-trailer driver navigate a curve on State Route 175 saw the end result coming a mile away.Video shows a big rig try to make it around a one lane section of SR-175 between Hopland, Calif., and Lakeport. As crews looked on, they knew it would be difficult."Oh he's in it to win it," one person is heard saying, before the truck begins to fall."There he goes!" another yells.As the truck slowly passed the spot a retaining wall was being built, its back wheel began to cross over the embankment's edge. The weigh of the truck's load pulled the truck over the embankment.Caltrans District 1 said multiple signs warning truck drivers of the truck length restriction (39 feet in total length) have been posted but were clearly ignored."Sometimes they simply get stuck, but others end up going over the embankment.
