(KGTV) - Does the calendar on the iPhone not list Easter among the holidays? That is no longer the case.Apple's IOS 11.3 did indeed omit Easter on its default "U.S. Holidays" calendar. But that was fixed in a later version. 234
(KGTV) - The holiday blockbuster season is upon us and Warner Bros' is hoping their long-awaited "Justice League" movie knocks out the competition. But judging by the reception so far, DC Comics' favorite heroes may face an uphill battle with critics. As the movie's release near theaters across the country, reviews have started to pour in ranging from excitement to tempered satisfaction to complete disgust.RELATED: 'Wonder Woman 2' will be released six weeks ahead of scheduleWhat's is about?"Justice League" sees heroes of the DC Comics world team up to take on a world-ending threat from Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons - who are hunting for three "Mother Boxes" hidden across the globe. In the wake of Superman's death, Bruce Wayne (Batman) sees this threat on the horizon. Alongside Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), the pair seeks to enlist the help of three other superhumans to put an end to Steppenwolf's ambitions.Critics' response..The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy was one of those who found themselves letdown - completely.McCarthy called the movie a "chore," adding, "the virtually humor-free script by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon (who was brought on to complete directing duties after Zack Snyder had to leave for family reasons) less resembles deft narrative scene-setting than it does the work of a bored casino dealer rotely distributing cards around a table."The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw echoed that same distaste, calling out the film's post-credit scenes (of which there are two) and saying, "the great revelation is very laborious and solemn and the tiresome post-credits sting is a microcosm of the film’s disappointment."RELATED: Fans cheer for Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot at Justice League San Diego Comic-Con appearanceBut not everyone was completely disappointed after the credits rolled. From Polygon writer Julia Alexander: "Justice League is a rare, anomalous jewel that pops up every few years in cinema: It can’t be described as a good movie, but it’s enjoyable at times to sit through."Though most reviews tried to establish the thoughts likely to run through movie-goers' heads: Is it better than the other DCU movies?"It’s not good, per se, and it’s definitely not 'Wonder Woman.' That said, it’s better than you may expect, a mostly tolerable movie made occasionally enjoyable by a few lively performances, one good fight sequence, and a solid punchline or two," Consequence of Sound's?Allison Shoemaker writes. However, one review that has been making the rounds may sum up the majority of responses to the DC's latest superhero adventure. The Atlantic's David Sims offers a slight silver-lining but straight-forward take, writing, "By the end of the film, some of his harsher edges have been sanded off; the same should go for the DC Comics universe moving forward." But he goes on to call "Justice League" a "pilot episode—it’s half-formed, overstuffed, and narratively a chore." 2972
4S RANCH, CA (KGTV) - A rash of street racing on a straightaway in 4S Ranch has neighbors calling for the county to intervene.Surveillance images show the beginning of an illegal street race on Four Gee Road Tuesday morning that ended in a crash. No one was injured, but neighbors are growing weary of the close calls.“This most recent incident was probably the most severe case we’ve ever seen,” said Tony Cesario, who has dozens of the incidents on video.Cesario’s security camera on his back fence caught the moments before a BMW racing a pickup truck ran off the road.“This happens on a weekly basis,” said Michael Chard, another neighbor, “it’s teenagers.”Residents say they call the authorities when it happens, but the drivers are always gone before law enforcement arrives.“At some point, somebody’s going to get killed,” added Chard. The county has previously denied resident’s attempts to add speed bumps on the half-mile long straightway that runs from Mount Gee to Camino Del Norte.A hangup for their efforts is that Four Gee Road is used for fire access. The Rancho Santa Fe Fire District has the final approval for any road alterations as part of the the fire code.A spokesperson says the speed bumps can damage their equipment when they are responding to a fire.Lucy Chard was home when Tuesday’s crash occurred and she says it’s only a matter of time until happens again.“There was a line of kids right down there waiting for the school bus,” said Chard standing where the BMW crashed, “and if this happened a few hundred yards down the road it would have been a different situation.” 1610

(KGTV) — Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced billionaire financier accused of sex trafficking, died by suicide in his Lower Manhattan jail cell overnight Saturday, ABC News reports.Epstein, 66, was discovered dead inside a Manhattan Correctional Center jail cell Saturday at about 6:30 a.m., a statement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons read. Fire officials said they received a call about 10 minutes later that he was in cardiac arrest and transported him to New York Downtown Hospital, ABC reported.ABC News cited several law enforcement officials who say Epstein hanged himself. He had been on suicide watch since July 23 when he was found unresponsive in his cell. Bruises were found on his neck but at the time it was unclear if they were self-inflicted or from an assault, ABC News reported.Epstein was set to stand trial on federal charges for allegedly sexually abusing dozens of minor females at his properties in New York and Florida. Some of those charges date back to the early 2000s.He pleaded not guilty to the charges and faced up to 45 years in prison if convicted.Epstein's arrest in July sparked investigations into how authorities handled with his case when he faced similar charges in Florida more than a decade ago. The backlash forced U.S. Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, who oversaw the case as a U.S. Attorney in Miami at the time, to resign. 1372
