Mariah Carey says that for years she didn't want to believe her diagnosis, but now the superstar singer is proud to share.In a new People magazine cover story, Carey talks about having been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and where she is today."Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me," she said. "It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn't do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love -- writing songs and making music."The Mayo Clinic defines bipolar disorder as "a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression)."Carey said she was first diagnosed in 2001 when she was hospitalized following a breakdown.She said she recently sought treatment after years of upheaval in her professional and personal life.Carey told the publication she is now in therapy and taking medication for bipolar II disorder, which involves periods of depression as well as hypomania.Her medication is working well, she said."It's not making me feel too tired or sluggish or anything like that," the singer said. Maine’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that it has traced 24 COVID-19 cases from an August 7 wedding reception in Millinocket, Maine.According to data released by the Maine CDC, 18 of the 24 cases were among those who attended the wedding reception. An additional six cases were tied to close contacts of those who attended the gathering.The reception reportedly had 65 attendees.Maine’s CDC is conducting further contact tracing of those who attended or worked the reception.Maine currently limits indoor gatherings to 50 people and outdoor gatherings to 100 attendees. 594

She wrote on Facebook?that she was struck by how the items looked similar to images she saw in an exhibit on blackface at the museum and that seeing the products left her "shaking with anger."As of Friday afternoon, Ezie's Facebook post had been shared more than 9,000 times.Prada said?in a statement Friday that the Pradamalia products depict "imaginary creatures not intended to have any reference to the real world and certainly not blackface.""Prada Group never had the intention of offending anyone and we abhor all forms of racism and racist imagery.
