The data suggests employees who were able to remain socially distant while at work had a lower rate of anxiety; 76 percent of those who reported having no anxiety were able to keep spacing while at work.Whereas 46 percent of those who did report having anxiety were unable to stay socially distant from coworkers or customers while on the job.About 8 percent of employees screened positive for at least mild depression symptoms on a self-reported questionnaire. Those who could not practice social distancing at work and commuted by public transportation were more likely to screen positive for depression.As a conclusion, the team of researchers hopes their findings are a call to action for providing comprehensive employee assistance services to help essential workers in all industries “cope with the psychological distress during the COVID-19 pandemic.”The study was published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. 2241

A man wearing what police called a "Halloween costume" with live ammo draped across his chest was detained on the UCF campus on Tuesday. UCF Police responded to a classroom for reports of a suspicious person. When they arrived, they found the man wearing a Halloween costume that included real live ammunition. The man was detained, interviewed and let go after police determined he was just wearing a costume and there was no criminal intent behind his costume.Police say he told them he was dressed as "the Terminator" and he was very forthcoming with the situation, answering all questions asked. During a press conference on Tuesday, police said they only received one call from a third-party about the man wearing the live rounds and that was very alarming to them. They want everyone to say something when they see something questionable. "We were surprised by only one call," said officials. A newly married man hasn't had much time to celebrate his marriage as he's been in the hospital with the rare condition acute flaccid myelitis for more than 100 days.Bridget Williquette and Adam Spoerri got married July 21, 2018. They left for their road trip honeymoon a few days later. But on August 5, Adam had to be taken to the emergency room with a respiratory disease that was affecting his breathing.Adam's body became increasingly paralyzed while in the ER, leaving his chest, arms, lungs, throat, facial muscles and neck without feeling. He was admitted to the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit that same day and has since been on life support.Adam and Bridget now communicate through writing on paper, as Adam's hands and wrists were not affected by paralysis as much as other areas of his body.He has been doing daily occupational and physical therapy and has made progress in being able to hold his head up on his own.A GoFundMe page has been set up for Adam and Bridget.
