A faulty engine part that could cause vehicles to stall has led to a recall of 400,000 worldwide.The recall affects Toyota Motor Corp. and Subaru Corp., MarketWatch reports. About 80,000 of the 400,000 are Toyotas.Subaru is recalling some of its most popular models, such as the Forester sport-utility vehicle and Impreza and BRZ sports car. Toyota is recalling the Subaru-made 86 and Scion FR-S sports car, MarketWatch said.The automakers announced springs in the engine valve could fracture. That would cause the vehicles to stall and possibly lead to an accident.Earlier in October, Toyota recalled approximately 2.4 million vehicles worldwide due to a problem in which the cars may not enter a fail-safe driving mode as intended, which can cause the vehicle to lose power and stall. About 807,000 of those vehicles are in the United States. If this happens while driving at higher speeds, it could cause a crash. The recall affects 2010-2014 model year Toyota Prius and 2012-2014 Prius v vehicles.There was a second recall involving certain 2018-2019 Tundra and Sequoia vehicles and 2019 Avalon vehicles. About 168,000 vehicles sold in the United States are affected by this recall, which is due to a programming problem in the airbag electronic control unit (ECU) that could disable one or more of the sensors used to detect crashes, possibly causing the side and curtain shield airbags and/or front and knee airbags to not deploy as intended.  1502

A group of NFL owners are accusing Jerry Jones of "damaging the league."Jones, who owns the Dallas Cowboys, is locked in a bitter feud with the owners of other teams over NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's contract extension.A lawyer for the NFL's compensation committee, which is responsible for negotiating Goodell's extension, sent a letter to Jones' attorney on Wednesday urging the Cowboys owner to support the committee and not "attempt to sabotage" its efforts.The letter, of which CNNMoney obtained a copy, said Jones' "antics, whatever their motivation, are damaging the league and reflect conduct detrimental to the league's best interests."The compensation committee is composed of six owners. All the other NFL owners also received a copy of the letter, which was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.Jones' lawyer didn't immediately respond to a request for comment late Wednesday. The Cowboys declined to comment.The language used in the letter follows reports that other owners are considering whether to strip Jones of his beloved Cowboys. He has said that "well over half" of owners agree with him. But all 32 owners agreed in May to give the compensation committee the power to decide whether to extend Goodell's contract, according to a league spokesman.The committee said in the letter that it has continued to keep owners informed.At one point, Jones was a non-voting honorary member of the committee, but was dismissed after he made his threat to sue.The letter referenced his dismissal and accused him of circulating old and misleading documents in his quest for transparency."Someone who is genuinely concerned 'that the owners know the truth about the negotiations' would not deliberately distribute such an outdated document ... or threaten to sue the league and its owners if he does not get his way," it said. 3170

A fourth-grade teacher in Florida was arrested on Saturday after deputies found a 4-year-old in the woman's custody wandering alone outside, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The Polk County, Florida Sheriff's Office said that the boy was discovered at 7:30 a.m. Saturday crying and asking for help. The boy was only wearing a t-shirt and underwear. The teacher, 26-year-old Marsha Dolce, claimed she was helping a friend with a broken down car when she left the child at home. But deputies found marijuana and a grinder on the kitchen counter, the Sentinel reported. When deputies pressed Dolce, she admitted that she had lied, and visited someone she knew had marijuana while the boy was sleeping. Dolce was charged with negligent child abuse, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia."This is not what we expect from a person in a position of public trust,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement to the Sentinel. “To think about this poor scared child crying in the street, not knowing where mom was — it is just a shame and should not have happened."Dolce was reportedly only a teacher for three months before her arrest.  1209
