XI'AN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Serbian President Boris Tadic on Saturday arrived in the ancient capital Xi'an in northwest China, continuing his week-long visit to the country.     Tadic visited some well-known historic sites in the city, including Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum and the Terra-cotta Warriors.     The president hailed "Terra-cotta Warriors" as unique, saying those warriors demonstrated Chinese' delicate craftsmanship dating back more than 2000 years.     "They are so well-preserved, thus Serbia should work with China on the protection of cultural relics," Tadic said. JINAN, East China, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge who was invited to attend the 11th Chinese National Games on Friday.     Hu Jintao extended welcome to Rogge and offered his congratulation on Rogge's re-election as IOC President. WASHINGTON, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- The G20 summit of world leaders in Pittsburgh this September should help promote the world economic recovery, said Chinese Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei recently.     During the first coordinating meeting, which kicked off on Thursday, the participanting countries agreed that they should strengthen the coordination and cooperation to help the summit achieve positive and pragmatic outcomes.     The Pittsburgh Summit should continue to promote all sides to strengthen the coordination of their macro economic policies and to boost the world economic recovery, said He during the two-day meeting.     He also urged the upcoming summit to implement actively the outcomes of the G20 London Summit, to speed up the reforms of the international financial institutions, and to expand the representations of the emerging and developing countries.     China hopes the summit will pay more attention to the development issue and to boost the world economy to achieve long-term and sustained growth by promoting common development, said He.

LONDON, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Finance Minister Xie Xuren said on Friday that the current economic stimulus measures should be maintained to ensure economic recovery and growth worldwide.     After a BRIC-country meeting held in London, Xie told a news conference that the four countries are now at a key stage of economic recovery, and should strengthen their coordination of economic policy.     The finance ministers and central bank governors of Brazil, Russia, India and China, the so-called BRIC countries, gathered in London on Friday to discuss the current situation of the world economy, as well as their governments' fiscal and monetary policy responses.     Xie stressed that promoting the reform of international financial institutions is a common consensus reached at the G20 summit held in London in April, adding that "we must put it into practice in accordance with the timetable."     The Chinese minister also called on the international community to attach great importance to the imbalance between the North and the South, and to further help developing countries realize common development, so as to achieve a fundamental balance and sustainable growth of the global economy.
