President Donald Trump is ordering the expulsion of 60 Russian diplomats and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle, Washington, in the wake of the UK nerve agent attack, the White House announced Monday. The President is taking the action in response to the poisonings of a former Russian double agent and his daughter in England, the administration announced.Forty-eight of the diplomats work at the Russian embassy and a dozen at the United Nations in New York. They and their families will have seven days to leave the country."The United States takes this action in conjunction with our NATO allies and partners around the world in response to Russia's use of military grade chemical weapons on the soil of the United Kingdom, the latest in this ongoing pattern of destabilizing activities around the world," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said.In December 2016, the US expelled 35 Russian diplomats in response to Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election. 1007
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Public health authorities say the death toll from a coronavirus outbreak linked to a Maine wedding reception has grown to seven. The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday the August wedding reception at the Big Moose Inn in Millinocket is linked to more than 175 confirmed cases of the virus. The agency says the outbreak continues to sicken people around the state and is linked to other cases at a county jail and a rehabilitation center. The outbreaks stemming from the event have spanned hundreds of miles in a state that had largely controlled the spread of coronavirus through the summer. The church where the wedding was held said it is taking precautions to limit the spread of the virus. 750

Woodward is publishing a book about Trump later this month. The Washington Post also confirmed that Woodward's book contains reporting about Trump downplaying the severity of the virus.According to the audio files published by CNN, Trump told Woodward on Feb. 7 that the coronavirus was reported to have airborne transmission and that COVID-19 was more deadly than a "strenuous flu." 772
President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold his daily news conference on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET from the White House briefing room.Trump will likely face questions about mail-in voting after a Fox News interview aired Thursday morning where Trump said he would block funding for the US Postal Service. The service, which has slowed down mail processing, says it is in need of funding to speed up mail delivery. The speed of mail deliveries has prompted concerns that ballots and ballot applications might not arrive in a timely manner. While a number of states have long conducted mail-in voting without issue, more voters are expected to utilize mail-in voting because of the coronavirus pandemic."They want three and a 0 million for something that'll turn out to be fraudulent, that's election money basically. They want .5 billion for the mail-in votes. Universal mail-in ballots. They want billion, billion, for the Post Office. Now they need that money in order to make the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots," Trump said.Trump has long opposed funding to conduct mail-in voting, repeating claims that mail-in voting leads to fraud. Trump has long tried to sow doubts on US elections; after his 2017 inauguration, he formed a voting fraud commission that disbanded after the panel did not release any reports indicating widespread voting abuses.Trump might also be questioned following comments from CDC Director Robert Redfield, who stated in an interview with WebMD that the coronavirus could cause a deadly fall.“I'm asking you to do four simple things: wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands and be smart about crowds. If we don't do that, as I said last April, this could be the worst fall, from a public health perspective, we've ever had.” 1819
