SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police officers saved a parrot from a hot car in Sorrento Valley, as temperatures reached upwards of 120 degrees inside the vehicle.San Diego Police say someone noticed a Macaw parrot in a car in distress at a hotel parking lot in the 11000 block of Vista Sorrento Parkway. A San Diego Humane Society officer responded and tried to break the window, before calling SDPD for assistance.Police broke the window and removed the parrot and rushed it to a veterinarian.A police officer told ABC 10News that the temperature in the car was at least 120 degrees. The bird only had a cup of liquid in a Big Gulp cup and no food.It's a misdemeanor to leave an animal unattended in a hot vehicle.San Diego Humane Society said the parrot is doing okay and the owners have been reached to reclaim the bird."Cars get hot very fast, so we advise never to leave an animal unattended in car, especially when it is warm outside. Even with the windows open, a parked car can quickly become a furnace. If the temperature outside is 80 degrees, the temperature inside your car can quickly climb to 120 degrees. Komen 3-Day walk in San Diego Friday.One year ago, Leslie Heiser got the news she never expected to hear: she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of treatment, doctors have declared her cancer-free. What started as simple motivation to get through tough days turned into what she believes will be a life-changing experience.The walkers participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event will cover 60 miles in three days. All are doing it for different reasons: some walking in memory of loved ones, others showing support for those battling cancer. And my biggest cheerleader from treatment to surgery. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Multiple former students of San Diego's Christian Youth Theater, known as CYT, are coming forward with stories of sexual assault, abuse and misconduct.On the phone Tuesday, the president of CYT confirmed that one of her own close family members claims that he was even abused when he was in CYT many years ago.On its Facebook page, the El Cajon-based theater group has acknowledged recent accusations of sex abuse from former students.Part of its statement reads, “We are deeply saddened to learn about statements that have recently been made on social media involving former CYT students, and we want you to know that we take these allegations very seriously…We have been working tirelessly on these issues with the authorities, outside consultants, staff, and the Board of Directors since they were brought to our attention…"San Diego attorney Jessica Pride said Tuesday that she's representing a former student who claims she was sexually abused starting in 2006. “The first time she was 13 and it continued until she was 15-years-old,” said Pride.The after-school theater arts training program was founded 40 years ago and is for students ranging from 4-years-old to 18-years-old. On its website, CYT writes that its grown to be the largest youth theater program in the nation with branches across the country, training thousands of students a year.Tuesday, CYT President Janie Russell Cox would not confirm the number of alleged victims or whether the accusations of abuse were between just students or students and teachers, but said claims have come from alumni- not current students.Cox confirmed that her close family member publicly posted on social media his own account of abuse from many years ago. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Officials have identified the recruit who died after going into cardiac arrest Sunday morning.The Marine Corps Recruit Deport says 21-year-old Private Patrick Armando Vega was pronounced dead just before noon on Sunday.A drill instructor found Vega unresponsive in his bed around midnight Sunday and conducted CPR.
