SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Jalen McDaniels, San Diego State University basketball's sophomore forward, was accused of filming consensual sex acts with a classmate in 2016 without her knowledge and sharing it with friends, according to a civil lawsuit filed Wednesday in Washington.The civil suit alleges McDaniels recorded the intimate moments with an 18-year-old female student while they were both seniors at Federal Way High School near Tacoma, Wash.The lawsuit goes on to say while McDaniels later told the plaintiff about the unauthorized recordings and that he had shared it with his friends, she learned from other students that the video became widely circulated. When she confronted McDaniels, he explained he had gotten away with a similar incident involving another female student, according to the lawsuit.The plaintiff's attorney, Joan Mell, who filed the suit, wrote her client has suffered from several self-destructive behaviors as a result, including attempting suicide.SDSU is accused of wrongdoing in the lawsuit as well.Mell alleges in the lawsuit that SDSU was contacted by Washington police to provide them with McDaniels' phone number, but failed to do so. The suit says SDSU, instead, alerted former basketball coach Steve Fisher, who secured McDaniels a lawyer, and McDaniels refused to cooperate.The suit goes on to allege McDaniels' refusal to cooperate and, "that others concealed his wrongdoing prevented prompt criminal investigation and referral to the prosecutor's office for timely filing of criminal charges under Washington’s criminal offense of distribution of intimate images."In a statement, SDSU said there would be "no change in [McDaniels'] status at the university" at this time, after an investigation by Washington authorities resulted in no charges before McDaniels' enrollment at the school: 1837

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — It has been over six months since a water main break spilled thousands of gallons of water into North Park streets, but some homeowners are still dealing with the aftermath.Jonathan Head has owned a triplex on Idaho street for almost twenty years."There's two buildings," Head said. "It was built in [the] 1940s."Back in October, a water main broke near his property. His tenants started to text him early that morning on October 4th. "It made my heart drop... it was like a river," Head said. While the water did not enter the living space, Head said it went into the vents flooding the crawl space beneath. "The wiring, the plumbing [was] completely saturated," Head said. He said city workers tried to fix the problem, but it was too late."By the time they got the equipment in, most of the water had penetrated the soil," Head said. He believes that made it difficult to dry out the property, which is why they are seeing problems with the foundation. Head said cracks below and inside the home developed. He filed a claim with the City of San Diego, but said he got no response."The city still has not compensated the clients entirely for the full scope of the damage," said Head's attorney, Evan Walker. There is now a lawsuit claiming roughly 5,000 worth of damage. "I think the city has known for some time about the precarious condition of its pipes and that it has done nothing," Walker added. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Large churches throughout San Diego are scaling down services in an effort to control the spread of the novel coronavirus. Miles McPherson, Senior Pastor of The Rock Church, says they normally get 12 to 13 thousand people who attend services at their seven campuses. Now, attendees who show up for worship won’t be allowed inside. A message sent out to members let them know about the change. RELATED: What's the difference? However, we are still going to have church and it’s going to be awesome,” McPherson said. “Here’s what’s going to happen. On Sunday at our normal times – 8, 10, 12, and 6, we will be broadcasting all of our services online on all of our platforms,” he added. McPherson also said church staff are taking precautions for those inside by sanitizing surfaces and not shaking hands. The Rock Church isn’t the only religious organization making changes amid COVID-19. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Inclement weather beginning Monday and lasting through Thursday will bring cooler temperatures and rain to San Diego County amid a busy travel season. The first of a series of storms is set to arrive Monday, bringing rain and snow to the county. A second storm is due to bring another round of moisture Christmas night through Thursday. Between the two storm systems, light showers will occur, according to the National Weather Service. The first round of storms are forecast to dump as much as an inch of rain along the coast and in the mountains. Snow accumulations between one and three inches are expected for elevations between 5,000 and 6,000 feet.
