A bomb threat caused the evacuation of parts of Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif. on Tuesday, prompting a large police response. The evacuation came around 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Police later gave the all clear.According to KGO-TV, a tip was received by Crime Stoppers in New York, and relayed to authorities in California. The phone call was anonymous and no other details were shared. Many of Facebook's 33,606 employees work out of the company's Menlo Park headquarters. An FBI spokesperson told CNN that a few buildings were evacuated, but all staff members are safe and were allowed to return to the buildings. 661
A Long Island man is facing charges after striking protesters with his vehicle Monday evening at a Black Lives Matter march, police in Suffolk County said.Authorities said Anthony Cambareri, 36, was driving his Toyota RAV4 westbound on Broadway in Huntington Station when he struck two protesters standing in the roadway around 6:45 p.m.The two pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.Police said Cambareri fled the scene but was caught moments later.Facebook user Matthew Showtyme posted video on Facebook reportedly of the driver stopped just after the incident.Warning: The below video contains language some readers may find offensive. Cambareri was not injured and his vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.Suffolk County police said the Coram man was arrested on third-degree assault charges and issued a desk appearance ticket. A federal judge has reportedly thrown out President Trump’s latest effort to block the Manhattan district attorney from subpoenaing his financial records, according to multiple outlets.President Trump’s lawyers made their final arguments to block the prosecutor from getting his tax records on August 10. U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero issued his ruling Thursday.The same judge refused to throw out the subpoena last year. A female shooter and a male employee were shot and killed early Monday at a distribution plant in Texas, a Missouri City spokeswoman said.Officers responded to reports of an active shooter at the Ben E. Keith food distribution plant, Missouri City Police Capt. Paul Poulton said.Another employee was also shot and was transported to a hospital, Poulton said.Officers are still in the process of conducting secondary searches of the facility.
