SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego Police Sergeant was arrested Friday after the department was tipped off to individuals reportedly soliciting sex from minors.Police say Joseph Ruvido, 49, was arrested in Carmel Valley and charged with one felony count of soliciting sex with a minor. A search warrant was served at the 21-year veteran's residence and he was taken into custody without incident.Ruvido was assigned to the SDPD Watch Commander's Office, approving reports and and bookings. Prior to that, Ruvido was a patrol sergeant with the department's Eastern division, according to SDPD Chief David Nisleit."I assure you Sgt. Ruvido will be held accountable both criminally and administratively," Nisleit said. Police identified one of the individuals as Ruvido and opened an investigation leading to his arrest.Once Ruvido was identified, investigators conducted 24/7 surveillance with investigators from the San Diego District Attorney's Office, according to SDPD Lt. Jud Campbell.SDPD declined to share any further details to protect the investigation, Nisleit said."We're going to be looking at everything," Nisleit said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspect was arrested Sunday morning after reportedly stealing someone’s car and stabbing the owner who tried to prevent the theft.According to police, the incident happened around 9:10 a.m. on the 2800 block of Jarvis Street in Point Loma.When the owner of the car tried to stop the man, the suspect stabbed the victim. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An Airbnb host says his condo was damaged by a guest who used a fake name to book the home.The host, who did not want to be identified because of the crimes committed, estimated nearly ,000 in damaged furniture and stolen belongings.He said the guest, who had recently created their profile and had no prior reviews, held a party in the unit.Damage included chipped furniture, rips on the couch, stains on the carpet and what appeared to be urine on the bed.The host also said that some of his property was stolen, including a watch and some of his medications. He said other items were also stolen, but could not reveal them because of the ongoing police investigation.“I still feel violated,” said the host, who reported the incident to police and Airbnb.He said Airbnb initially dragged their heels on helping reimburse him for all the damage, but on Thursday, finally offered to In a statement to 10News, an Airbnb spokesperson wrote, “We are supporting the host via our Million Host Guarantee and have suspended the guest’s account as we investigate this incident. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An elderly Army veteran is warning others after he was brutally attacked while riding his mobility scooter in North Park.Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, 81-year-old Phil Severns was headed to a grocery store on the scooter when it happened."I just felt a sharp blow on the right side of my head. It almost knocked me out ... My glasses came off and were broken,  and my head hurt terribly," said Severns.Severns says he turned around and saw two concerned women who described his attacker. He looked and saw a man on the run a block away, described as a black man in his mid-20s with long hair, a lean build, and blue shirt and shorts.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodAt that moment, Severns says he kept thinking that he had to find out who did it. Severns decided to go after him, following him into a nearby CVS Pharmacy parking lot, where he found the man swinging a sock that appeared to be filled with rocks."Confronted him and asked him why he hit me," said Severns.The answer? A claim that Severns had hit him first, which Severns calls untrue. Before the man took off, there was more odd behavior.    "Just walking in circles and waving that sock," said Severns.It appears he wasn't done. Across the street at Walgreens, managers tell 10News they believe the same homeless man punched a clerk an hour later, the second such altercation with the man in the past year. It's a revelation that makes Severns more fearful."He's dangerous and acting crazy.
