SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An orphaned puppy at a local animal rescue will receive a state-of-the-art heart surgery to repair a rare heart murmur.Helen Woodward Animal Center said Tuesday Cowboy, a terrier-blend brought to the center last October, has an irregular heart rhythm, so intense that veterinary staff could actually feel a distinct and loud rumble if their hands were placed on his chest.The puppy was brought into the center with his mother and five siblings, all of whom have found new homes.RELATED: Puppies found abandoned in Escondido park adopted out to new homesSince Cowboy arrived at Helen Woodward, he's been cared for by center staff and a foster owner and administered a medication called Atenolol to take pressure off his heart.“We care deeply about every single orphan pet that comes into our care and go to great lengths to make sure that each one of these wonderful animals has the chance to live a long, healthy and happy life with a loving forever family,” Jennifer Shorey, Helen Woodward Animal Center Director of Operations, said. “When we learned about Cowboy’s unique condition, we didn’t hesitate to find him the expert care he needs. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Alarming audio files and documents from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Internal Affairs Division have been released about the sexual misconduct investigation into ex-deputy Richard Fischer who was accused of assaulting 16 women. Team 10 has started pouring through the records.In one audio clip, an Internal Affairs interviewer is heard questioning, "As you're buckling her, did you say, 'I hope your husband doesn't mind?'" He responded, "I don't recall saying that." He was apparently being questioned about his interaction with a handcuffed woman who was in his patrol car. "Okay. Well, do you recall if your arm or your palm of your hand touched her breast?" she asked. He said, "No. I would say I can't recall for sure if I accidentally touched- rubbed against- not rubbed. Um, unintentionally touched her breast with my arm as I buckled her in."In another clip, a woman is heard describing how she says Fischer placed her hand on his private area. She said, "Oh my God. I was, like, in a panic. I didn't know what to do."The hours of audio recordings and hundreds of pages of reports from the Department have now been made public. For months, San Diego police agencies have been working to release past records related to officer misconduct, following last year's groundbreaking order by the courts. It came after ABC10 News and other media sued to keep some police unions from blocking departments from giving up files.Fischer pleaded guilty last year to multiple assault charges, following accusations that he groped, hugged or tried to kiss more than a dozen women while he was on-duty.Records released show copies of texts from a woman who he pulled over. They read, in part, “He asks me if I wanted to make out. I swear to God [redacted] every single word of this is true."Several times throughout the audio recordings, he's asked about women who he had met while he was on calls or doing traffic stops. "Did you, um, ask her, if [she] were older if she would ever go on a date with you?" asked the interviewer. "I don't believe I did. No,” he responded. "Is it possible you asked her that?" she asked. He replied, "[I’m] probably [going to] say ‘no’. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego man whose bike was stolen, decided to track the thief himself. But instead of turning him in, he turned the situation into something positive. Rob Greenfield never thought he'd see his bamboo bike again. “I didn’t lock it because I was sitting 20 feet from it and then I heard a noise and I looked back and saw the guy speeding off into the night with it.” When he found the thief, he didn't turn him in. He pulled him in for a hug, forgave him and took his bike back.  “It’s one of a kind bamboo bike but really what makes it special is that I’ve biked across the United States on it doing good deeds," he said. "So I’ve traveled thousands of miles across the country.” The theft made him want to do more good deeds, right here in San Diego. “I decided that rather than turning that into a really negative situation I would turn it into a positive situation," he said. "Knowing the feeling of having a bike stolen I decided I wanted to give bikes to kids who have had their bikes stolen and can’t afford a new one.” Greenfield started a GoFundMe to raise money for bikes. Bikes that he would then donate to the Boys and Girls Club - to kids whose bikes were stolen. He says it's a lesson in kindness that he hopes the thief who took his bike, and the kids who were given bikes, will pass on.“I can crowd out the bad with lots of good. So one bike stolen so I can give away 10 bikes, he said. "In that way it just wipes that bad deed out.”Rob gave away 10 bikes Tuesday and says that there is enough left for him to do it again.  1614

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Scripps Ranch woman did a double take when she found a mailbox post knocked down, the biggest shock came two days later.Last Thursday afternoon, Elizabeth Spelce came out of her along Cypress Valley Drive and saw it: A wooden post with her mailbox and three others was lying on its side, split apart just above the concrete."Disbelief. Stood there for a good minute and stared," said Spelce.At first she thought the culprit was the wet, windy weather. Two days later, she took a closer look and realized the wood was not rotted and wasn't so sure about her wind theory. She then assumed it might have been some bad driver or teen driver, so she decided to look at her Ring doorbell video."It was a little shocking," said Spelce.In the video, a mail truck is seen pulling alongside the curb, before running right into the post and toppling the mailboxes. The postal carrier backs up the truck, pulls forward, and soon after, reaches down and delivers the mail. The truck then drives off, apparently resuming its route."There was no note. No nothing. Just a big mystery," said Spelce.Spelce says the postal carrier added to the mystery when she talked to a neighbor. "She says, 'by the way, your mailboxes are knocked over ... Gosh, I can't imagine how it happened,'" said Spelce.Remember how she continued to deliver the mail after the mailboxes were knocked over? "She was pretending she delivered the mail and then it happened ... It's very disappointing," said Spelce.Her toppled post has since been replaced by her HOA. Spelce filed a complaint with the Postal Service. She's doesn't want the mail carrier to lose her job, but hopes she'll finally take responsibility. A Postal Service spokesperson issued the following statement: 1767
