Starting January 1, the prices hospitals charge for service will now have to be listed. Just like you see at a restaurant or salon, hospitals will offer up their own menu of services, with the prices of the procedures right next to them. "Transparency helps everybody,” says Kevin Flynn, with Health Advocates. “It eliminates fraud. It eliminates waste." Flynn says although it seems great, the hospital prices can be deceiving. "But for you and me, the person on the street, it doesn't mean a whole lot, Flynn explains. "While the hospital charges a certain price, ultimately it's your insurance company that's setting everything." Flynn says to keep in mind the prices listed don't include you using insurance, co-pays or deductibles. Companies such as Healthcare Bluebook and Fair Price show patients the average in network price of procedures. They compile patients claims data from all over. "What the hospital charges is one thing,” Flynn says. “What the insurance company actually pays is completely different.” So, the next time you need to get a procedure , Flynn recommends calling your insurance company. "It's much better to talk to your insurance company before you go and know approximately what you are going to pay, as opposed to just looking up online of this new thing seeing what the hospital charges," Flynn says. 1355

A bride from New Orleans went all out for her beach wedding -- enlisting 34 of her closest friends and family to join her as bridesmaids on her big day.Casme Carter tied the knot June 2 in Destin, Florida, with her six sisters and 28 friends by her side.She says that she planned on having 50 ladies but some couldn't make it because of family reasons and an Army deployment.But why -- and how -- so many? Carter says she has a lot of friends from mentoring and participating in women's empowerment groups."I wanted them all to experience the love that they've seen that I've been praying for and wanting. I wanted them to witness it first hand," Carter says.When she told her now-husband, Gary Carter, of her plans, he didn't think she was serious at first, she says."He thought I was joking but then he was like, 'If anybody can do it.' He knows how I am and how many women are around me," Carter said.Carter says her husband's next concern was whether he could match that many women with men. "You don't expect me to have that many groomsmen," she recalls him saying.The bridesmaids were even more surprised than her husband because Carter didn't tell them that there would be 34 women in her wedding.She says she broke them up into a few different group chats to discuss details and told them just to get neutral beach dresses, and bring some bathing suits and khakis.The bride says the surprise went off without a hitch. "When they saw everybody they were like, 'Oh my God, Casme. This is so awesome!'"She was just happy that everyone was able to make it to her wedding. "Their time and their presence was a gift to me, just being there."In addition to holding a massive wedding, Carter says the couple decided to get married only three months after getting engaged.She says she always dreamed of a beach wedding and after being a wedding singer in Destin for at least 50 weddings she knew it was the place she wanted to get married.Carter also had a Pinterest board for her wedding that she had worked on for several years before even meeting her husband so she finalized it printed it out, and went to work to pull the massive event together in a short time.Overall, Carter says the day was perfect and she wouldn't have changed a thing."Everything about this wedding was different," Carter says. A feature that Facebook shut down in the wake of last year's Cambridge Analytica scandal came back to haunt it on Wednesday, when it emerged that hundreds of millions of Facebook users' phone numbers had been found in an unprotected online database.Millions of American Facebook users' phone numbers are believed to be among those found. Facebook said there is no evidence that any accounts were compromised. Even so, the latest discovery is a reminder that even new, stricter security policies can't necessarily address past data leaks or abuses.Until April 2018, people could enter another person's phone number to find him or her on Facebook. The company shut down the feature in the weeks after the Cambridge Analytica scandal broke because it found "malicious actors" had abused the feature to gather public information on Facebook users, a process known as scraping."Given the scale and sophistication of the activity we've seen, we believe most people on Facebook could have had their public profile scraped in this way," Mike Schroepfer, Facebook's chief technology officer, 1095

A 3-year-old boy died after falling into a restaurant grease trap Monday morning in Rochester, New York, police said.Rochester Police Department Investigator Francis Camp said they believe the boy fell through a plastic lid that gave way and into the grease trap embedded in the ground outside a Tim Hortons restaurant.The grease trap was covered with a green plastic lid -- much like a manhole cover -- that helped it blend into the surrounding grass, he said."The lid was on there, it looks like the child ran across it and it popped open and he fell into the trap," he said.The grease trap is 2-and-a-half feet in diameter, according to police.Camp said a witness found the child in the grease trap minutes after he was reported missing. The witness saw the boy and pulled him from the trap and started administering CPR, Camp said. The boy's name has not been released.Attempts were made to revive the boy but they were unsuccessful, according to Camp."We have a horrifying episode here that happened today," he said. "We're asked all the time, 'What's the worst thing you encounter as a police officer?' and this is number one."The medical examiner's office told CNN the cause of death will be released in coming days.The city is currently pouring concrete around the opening in the ground where the grease trap was located and putting a metal lid on it, according to Camp.CNN reached out to the NY Buildings Administrative Enforcement Unit to ask if this location's grease interceptor was up to code.Tim Hortons provided CNN with the following statement:"What occurred today was a tragedy and on behalf of the Tim Hortons family, we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young boy who passed away. A man walking along a partially iced-over Lake Michigan in Chicago needed to be rescued by fast-acting officers and paramedics, the department said on Sunday.The unidentified person's rescue was captured on video, and shared by the Chicago Police on Sunday. In the video, two SWAT officers could be seen reaching the man first after a civilian who witnessed the incident ran to get help.
