SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A dream became reality for a San Diego woman, but not in a good way. Jenna Evans says she swallowed her engagement ring in her sleep.Tuesday night, Evans dreamed that she and her fiance, Bobby, were facing off with "bad guys" on a high-speed train. During the struggle, Bobby told Evans that she had to swallow her engagement ring to protect it. So she did. Not just in her dream, but in real life. She woke to find the ring clean off her finger. "When I woke up and it was not on my hand, I knew exactly where it was," Evans said. "It was in my stomach."The next morning, Evans and her future husband went to Urgent Care, where they saw her X-rays. Her ring was clearly nestled right in her stomach.A gastroenterologist, however, suggested it would not be best to let nature run its course. Doctors recommended an upper endoscopy to remove her beloved bling."I was really happy because I don't know if I can look at it and appreciate it in the same way, if I had to search for it," Evans chuckled.At this point, Evans says she could feel the ring in her stomach and it was starting to become painful.Doctors safely removed the ring from her intestines and returned the jewelry to Evans — well, to Bobby for safe keeping, at least. Bobby eventually gave Evans her ring back."I feel very grateful that I got it back, and that this is a happy and funny story," Evans said. It was a crazy adventure that gave new meaning to "A Sparkling bride, inside and out."She says she now takes the ring off when going to sleep.The couple will get married in Evans' home state of Texas, hopefully with the ring in hand, next May. 1641

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 9-year old in Ocean Beach is using his lemonade stand to help others.Dylan Rodriguez sets up his lemonade stand on Bacon Street every Wednesday near the OB Farmer's Market. Initially, he wanted to make some money for himself."He wanted to raise a 0 bill," says his mother, Holly Raines.But after accomplishing that goal, his efforts became more altruistic."It feels nice helping somebody out, because, if I was in that position, I would like a lot of help too," says Dylan.Over the past three years, he's used some of the money from the lemonade stand to pay for a handful of charitable projects. He's given backpacks of supplies to the homeless, bought art supplies for kids at Rady's Childrens Hospital and bought holiday presents for refugee families."It makes me satisfied knowing that he's got a giant heart," says Raines.Recently, Dylan's giving has become more personal. One of his friends was diagnosed with a form of Muscular Dystrophy. Dylan decided to help with payments for his treatments."He needs a lot of money for each treatment," says Dylan. "It's, like, ,000 each time. So I'm trying to raise money for him."In June, Dylan was able to give his friend 0. He says he'll keep giving his lemonade money to his friend indefinitely."I'd like to give him ,000," says Dylan. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A car carrier truck slammed into a hydrant Tuesday evening in Pacific Beach, sending a geyser spewing into the air as passersby took in the spectacle.The incident happened on the 2700 block of Garnet Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Authorities say the driver hit the hydrant before immediately pulling over and remaining at the scene.San Diego Fire-Rescue arrived to stop the hydrant from shooting water onto nearby businesses.Many nearby businesses closed for the day as San Diego Police and San Diego Fire-Rescue went door-to-door to find out what, if any damage had been done.At this time, it's unclear what led to the crash. 649

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A City pool is now drained and shut down after vandals threw glass into it.Parents who bring their kids to the Allied Gardens pool for swim lessons were notified on Monday of the closure. "Honestly my reaction, I just kind of sat there dumbfounded, they called and said the classes were canceled, me being curious I asked why, they said vandalism. I said you have to be kidding. This is my neighborhood!" said Marie Veenstra, a mom of three.She says two of her children attend lessons at the pool on Glenroy Street four days a week. "It is super frustrating, not only as a mom who can't bring her kids to the pool, but thinking about the environment," said Veenstra.The City says broken shards of glass can be impossible to see or retrieve without draining the pool. Broken glass found in and around the pool results in having to drain the pool completely, conduct a thorough cleaning of the pool bottom to retrieve remaining pieces of glass, refill the pool with water and necessary chemicals to ensure the pool is safe and then reopen the facility.The City's safety protocol is consistent with the Model Aquatic Health Code. Draining and refilling the more than 320,000-gallon pool will cost the City roughly ,000 when factoring in personnel. "We love our pool though, we wish this didn't happen, but we'll come back."City officials say a police report has been filed, but there are no leads as to who threw glass in the pool. 1458

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A dog owner is making desperate plea for the return of her puppy after a burglary at her Spring Valley home."Up all night crying ... I can barely see through my eyes," said Ashley Morales.The Morales' family dog Snuffles, a 4-month old Pekachu, was inside their condo just after 9 a.m. Sunday. Two of Morales' children, ages 11 and 13, were sleeping in a bedroom when the strangers broke in. She and her husband weren't planning on being gone long. They were going to the grocery store to buy items for breakfast.Morales and her husband left the door unlocked, and that is how the intruders got in. A neighbor called them during their shopping trip to report something suspicious.When the couple got home less than an hour later, they made a terrifying discovery. Their bedroom was ransacked. A few feet away, their kids' bedroom was untouched. The door had been shut and her kids had slept through it. "We ran upstairs and hugged our kids. This could have turned out so much worse," said Morales.Deputies say the suspects were captured in a neighbor's surveillance camera, which shows them walking in and out of the condo. In one clip, a woman is seen walking out with what appears to be a television. Morales say they also got away with a box of her jewelry."Some of the jewelry my father gave me before he passed away," said Morales.But Morales says her most painful loss is her puppy, which was nowhere to be found. Morales believes the intruders took him."My dog doesn't leave anywhere. If he had gotten out, he would have stayed close to home. I felt like one of my kids was kidnapped.
