The Postal Service says it is facing “historic volumes” going into its busiest shipping week of the year. The only Louisville police officer who was charged with a crime relating to the raid that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor has been accused of sexual assault.According to WAVE-TV in Louisville, a woman has filed a lawsuit against former Louisville Metro Police Department Officer Brett Hankison, accusing him of assaulting her after he gave her a ride home from a bar where he was working security.According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff, Margo Borders, met Hankison through mutual friends in 2017. In 2018, Border met friends at Tin Roof, a bar west of downtown Louisville where Hankison was working a side job as a security guard.Borders said she had been drinking that evening, and when she went to call an Uber, Hankison insisted that he drive her home. When he dropped her off at her apartment, he allegedly invited himself in. Borders alleges that when she went to sleep, Hankison "willfully, intentionally, painfully and violently sexually assaulted" her. When Borders regained consciousness, she yelled at Hankison and asked him to leave. Borders alleges that Hankison later messaged her and allegedly tried to convince her that they had "engaged in consensual relations."The lawsuit also includes claims from nine other women who say Hankison either approached them with unwanted sexual advances or assaulted them.CNN reports that Hankison's police file includes 50 internal reports, including two reports of alleged sexual misconduct. He was exonerated in both incidents.Hankison was fired from the LMPD earlier this year. He faces three charges of wanton endangerment for his actions in the raid that led to the death of Breonna Taylor, as he's accused of firing his weapon and endangering the lives of Taylor's neighbors. No officers involved in the raid faced homicide charges in Taylor's death, and Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has said the officer's actions were justified because they were fired upon by Taylor's boyfriend. However, grand jurors who weighed charges for the officers have said publicly that Cameron did not afford them the opportunity to charge officers with a homicide. 2127

The head of United States Customs and Border Protection said border agents "prevented a dangerous situation getting worse" when they fired tear gas at a group of migrants who rushed the US-Mexico border Sunday.CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan told reporters Monday that as many as 1,000 people that were part of a migrant caravan traveling through Central America and Mexico sought to enter the US illegally. He said that according to CBP's initial report, 69 people were apprehended entering the US. McAleenan said he was not aware of any successful illegal entries by caravan members into the US."[CBP] effectively managed an extremely dangerous situation involving over 1,000 individuals who sought to enter the US unlawfully in large groups. They did so safely and without any reported serious injuries on either side of the border," McAleenan said.Sunday's incident marked an escalation of tensions that have been mounting since groups of Central American migrants began arriving in Tijuana a few weeks ago on their journey to attempt to gain entry to the US. The incident began with a march to the border that organizers said would be peaceful. In response, CBP deployed additional personnel to San Ysidro, California, on Sunday in expectation of demonstrations on both sides of the border.McAleenan said individuals breached the border fence to the east of San Ysidro and some went west and sought to enter through the Tijuana River channel. He described "assaultive behavior" by some migrants in both locations. Border Patrol agents countered using "less lethal devices," which included tear gas and "other projectiles," but not rubber bullets. He said CBP does not have rubber bullets in its inventory on the border.McAleenan said, per protocol, the decision to fire was made by agents on the scene using their professional judgment, and also per protocol the incident will be reviewed. He also described CBP as having responded with use of force to primarily adult males throwing rocks. However, video of the scene also showed a cloud of tear gas that sent people running and screaming, including families with young children.Four agents were hit with rocks, but because of their protective gear they were not seriously injured, McAleenan said.Sunday's melee closed one of the world's busiest international crossings, San Ysidro Port of Entry, near San Diego, to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for several hours. By Sunday afternoon, CBP reopened crossing lanes in both directions to pedestrians and vehicles. On the other side of the border in Mexico, Tijuana police had arrested 39 people by Sunday night, the agency said on Facebook. 2651

The pandemic has made in-person meetings and events far less common, and that includes job interviews. As more interviews take place virtually, here are some tips to help you interview from the comfort of your own home.Jonathan Nugent, the owner of All-Star Career Services in Cincinnati, Ohio, said try to look at your camera, "not necessarily the person that you're chatting with." By looking at the camera, it makes it seem like you are looking at your interviewer directly.Nugent also said your background and setting aren't as important as things like whether or not the place you are sitting is well lit or has good acoustics so your interviewer can hear you properly. Your posture, and whether or not you are sitting up straight or slouching, is also important, said Nugent. From there, stylist and owner of Sloane Boutique, Ivy Costa, said to think about what kind of position you are applying for and dress accordingly. If the job you've applied for is more corporate, Costa suggests dressing in more neutral tones with a pop of color. For creative positions, subtle patterns and more color works. And while some people might only dress their top half for the interview, Costa said dressing like you're in the same room as the interviewer is the best bet."It fires those engines on mentally that you're there and ready to go," Costa said. "When you have the job and you're comfortable, put your yoga pants back on."Sina Gebre-Ab with WCPO in Cincinnati, Ohio, first reported this story. 1500

The mother of mail bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc writes that she is estranged from her son but hurt by his alleged attacks, and she calls on the country -- specifically, President Donald Trump -- to tone down the nasty rhetoric. She further warned that the political vitriol -- particularly talk of "war" against the media and political parties — could resonate with the mentally ill, like her son, and inspire them to "violently act out in our country," Madeline Sayoc wrote in an open letter to television network ABC, which published the correspondence Sunday night.Madeline Sayoc also said that her 56-year-old son's relatives had tried, to no avail, to get him help, and that American families need better laws to allow families to "compel and require" treatment, when necessary. Here is the full text of the letter: 822
