SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A battle is brewing between the San Diego bay cruise companies over which companies can start up again and which ones cannot. Some companies are cleared to resume dinner cruises next weekend, while others are still stuck at the docks. On Hornblower Cruises & Events’ Facebook page, the announcement is up that it's reopening this upcoming weekend. Wednesday, the fleet was docked but starting Saturday, the company is offering dining cruises through the bay. “At the moment, we have not been permitted to leave the dock,” said Carole Noska, owner of Charter Services. She told 10News that her boat and other charters still can't operate bay tours. County guidelines only permit recreational boating, not charters, and the recreational sailing is only for passengers within the same household. The County reports that dining cruises, though, are fine to set sail so long as they operate within the County's dine-in guidelines for restaurants.“We probably lost ,000 to ,000 over Memorial weekend after having already been at the dock for the last two months since COVID started," Noska told 10News and added, “Those of us in the legal charter community the credentialed vessels for charter would just ask that the County and the Port and the State level the playing field.”In a press release, Hornblower Cruises & Events provided an extensive list of safety measures its implementing, including social distancing aboard, and facial covering requirements. The company sent 10News the following statement on Wednesday."In accordance with the latest Stage 2 Variance which now permits dine-in restaurants to operate, we are thrilled to be able to offer a limited choice of seated dining cruises starting this weekend. Like other restaurants within the County, we are adhering to the specific guidelines laid out in the San Diego Safe Onsite Dining Plan for Restaurants and the State guidance for Dine-in restaurants. In addition to already stringent cleaning protocols, we are adapting the onboard experience to reflect the need for social distancing, alongside elevated health and hygiene practices. So, while our Guests can still expect the same high standards and welcoming service, they can be assured we are fully compliant with all relevant and necessary requirements."Flagship Cruises & Events is starting dining cruises as well, but the company is also doing bay tours which is in violation of the County health code. The company was cited by Harbor Police over the holiday weekend but reports that it is continuing its operation, maintaining its allowed to do so under a certain section of County code, which the County disputes. 2679

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The two owners and two employees of San Diego-based pornographic website GirlsDoPorn.com were charged with federal sex trafficking counts Thursday, with prosecutors alleging the defendants coerced and threatened the victims into appearing in online pornography videos.According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, numerous young women who initially responded to ads for modeling jobs were deceived by the defendants to appear in adult films.Once the victims learned the work involved pornography, the defendants allegedly told them the videos would be distributed to private clients, and not disseminated on the internet.RELATED: San Diego porn case: Civil trial against porn website operators beginsProsecutors say the women were "pressured into signing documents without reviewing them and then threatened with legal action or outing if they failed to perform." Others were not allowed to leave the shoots -- which were conducted at various San Diego hotels -- until the videos were completed, which sometimes involved sex acts the victims initially declined to perform, prosecutors say.Website owners Michael James Pratt, 36, and Matthew Isaac Wolfe, 37, are charged along with porn actor Ruben Andre Garcia, 31, and administrative assistant Valerie Moser, 37. The charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.Prosecutors say Pratt remains outstanding, while Wolfe was arrested Tuesday, and Garcia was arrested Wednesday. It was not clear when Moser was arrested, but the U.S. Attorney's Office said she is slated to be arraigned in San Diego federal court on Friday.In addition, FBI agents executed a search warrant Wednesday night at an office in the Spreckels Theatre Building in downtown San Diego, where prosecutors say the website operated from. The website and its sister sites allegedly generated more than million in revenue.The defendants are also currently involved in an ongoing San Diego civil trial in which they are being sued by 22 women who appeared in videos on the site. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - "It's not fair and it's not right," says Warren Peters of Spring Valley. He says he's been watching his son, Jahmes, spend several months fighting for his federal tax return. "People need this money. People have worked for this money. People have earned this money," says 24 year-old Jahmes.The young man tells Team 10 that he filed online in February and received his state refund, but not his federal refund. It's now been more than 7 months. A return summary shows he's owed almost ,200 from the IRS.Jahmes says he's between jobs and burning through his savings. His father tries to help but says he's retired and on a fixed income, so his means are limited."It doesn't feel too good depending on your dad at 24-years-old," Jahmes tells Team 10. Jahmes says he has repeatedly called, emailed and written to the IRS. He adds he was once asked to appear in-person to verify identity, which he says he completed. However, he says his efforts didn't yield clear answers from the IRS.On the IRS website, he showed us what he says is his filing status. "Your tax return is still being processed," is what it reads. "If the circumstances were different, [the IRS] would be knocking on [our] door looking for their money," says Warren Peters. "The IRS is just understaffed and overworked," says tax attorney Ronson Shamoun, CEO of Downtown San Diego's RJS Law Firm. He says long delays are not uncommon. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Father’s Day boat trip off the San Diego coast led to a rare wakeboarding encounter with dozens of dolphins for a Pacific Beach boy and his family. “It was a quick little boat ride and we saw paradise up there,” said Emiliano Gallego of Crown Point. Gallego and his three children decided to take a boat ride about 7:30 a.m. on a gloomy Sunday. They were about a mile off Pacific Beach when they realized their 24-foot Yamaha ski boat was surrounded by dolphins. “It was impressive,” said Gallego, who believes there were thousands of dolphins swimming with the pod. Gallego’s 9-year-old son Demi, an avid wakeboarder, grabbed his gear and jumped in the water. Gallego recorded the incredible scene. “At first, he was scared. He eventually just started enjoying the ride with the dolphins,” Gallego said. Gallego’s younger son and daughter didn’t want to jump in. “Too many dolphins,” said Gallego. After the spectacular ride, the family went out to breakfast, amazed at what they saw. “That was the best gift ever,” said Gallego. 1059
