CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police arrested a second suspect Wednesday in the shooting of an 18-year-old Coronado High School student earlier this month during a jewelry sale meetup. According to police, Alejandro Guzman, 18, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the shooting of Jacob McKanry, who was shot on May 4 near Orange Avenue and 10th Street. Guzman was charged with robbery and transported to San Diego Central Jail. A 17-year-old male was arrested in Chula Vista on May 22 after police served three search warrants in connection to the shooting. That suspect was charged with attempted homicide, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon. The survey found that 76% of shoppers said they would rather do something else on Black Friday than shop, which is a 10% increase from a year ago.Unlike in years past, many major retailers are opting to close on Thanksgiving. The survey found that 71% of shoppers are more likely to support businesses that give their employees the day off on Thanksgiving."The pandemic will have a significant impact on shopping behaviors this year, with more consumers shopping online than ever before," said Joan Giese, CCB clinical associate professor of marketing. "However, despite these changes, we've found that many consumers feel that holiday shopping will provide a sense of normalcy during an unfamiliar holiday season."The National Retail Federation says that the industry has shown some resilience during the pandemic. Comedian Jimmy Fallon announced on Sunday that tapings for "The Tonight Show" for the coming week have been canceled due to his mother's death. Fallon had previously canceled Friday's taping at the last minute due to a family matter. On Saturday, Fallon's mother Gloria Fallon died at the age of 68. “Jimmy Fallon’s mother, Gloria, died peacefully on Saturday," a spokesperson for Fallon told NBC News in a statement. "Jimmy was at his mother’s bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC.
