SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A woman broke her thigh bone after she was riding on a motorized scooter and lost control in downtown San Diego Friday.The 65-year-old woman was riding a Bird scooter just before 2 p.m. in the Embarcadero area, according to San Diego Police. Her family members were also riding scooters with her.For some reason, police say the woman lost control of the scooter and overturned. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A school bus crashed into a San Diego Center for Children dormitory Wednesday afternoon, creating a massive hole in the side of the building.Officials say a San Diego Unified School District bus driver lost control of the bus on the 3000 block of Armstrong Street, causing the bus to collide with the building.No children were inside the building or the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.Contractors have responded to the scene of the crash to assess the damage to the building. Brenda Kaesler says she first learned about Wreaths Across America (WAA) when she laid her son Jeffrey to rest. "He had the best smile of anyone I've ever seen. He just lit up the room. And of course that's a mother talking, but other people have said the same thing!" said Brenda. Brenda says Jeffrey suffered a traumatic brain injury in Iraq, which lead to a brain aneurysm and his death several years later. Each year the nonprofit raises money to put wreaths on the graves of veterans and fallen service members. San Diego (KGTV) – A woman was driving southbound on 47th Street when she lost control and crashed into two parked trucks Sunday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.One passenger, who was asleep in the backseat and not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening brain injury.The other passenger said he was having chest pain, but is expected to be okay.Officers said the driver ran away.They did not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 604
