SAN DIEGO (KGTV): With recreational marijuana now legal in California, doctors are warning parents to be extra vigilant when checking their kids' candy on Halloween. They worry that the kids may confuse edibles for candy."There's going to be candy all over the house," says Dr. James Elia from Sharp Grossmont Hospital. "If there are edibles that are in the household and are forgotten to put away, kids may be able to get into them as well."State law allows edibles but has strict guidelines for how much THC can be in them. A package can't contain more than 100 milligrams, and each piece can't have more than 10.Marijuana vendors say new rules also make it harder for the edibles to be confused for candy."You cannot use the word candy and animals cannot be in the shape of certain animals and images that might be attractive to children," says Kyle Dukes from Torrey Holistics. He also noted that state law doesn't allow the edibles to be in any shape the State Bureau of Cannabis Control deems "attractive to children." Specifically, they can't be shaped like fruit, animals or lollipops.Packaging for marijuana-infused food must also be child resistant and clearly labeled.Dr. Elia recommends keeping edibles locked away, similar to the way people treat medicine they don't want kids to get. He says the side effects of THC on children could be devastating."They could experience alteration of mental status, sometimes hallucinations, severe anxiety, severe paranoia," he says. "With children, it's also noted shortness of breath."Elia also says parents should be extra vigilant when checking their kids' trick-or-treat candy, to make sure an edible didn't wind up in their collection."We all have to be concerned about this," he says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) San Diego real estate icon Doug Manchester lost his nomination to be the ambassador to the Bahamas after a series of emails that may have implied pay for play proposition, according to a new report.The report, from CBS News, uncovered an email exchange between Manchester and Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel. The exchange came just days after Manchester returned from a humanitarian trip to the Bahamas to provide post Hurricane Dorian aid. President Trump nominated Manchester to the ambassadorship in 2017. But they are girding for the arrival of a weather system Sunday that will bring high winds and thunderstorms that could spark new fires and fan existing blazes that already destroyed nearly 1,000 homes and other structures and forced tens of thousands to evacuate. On Sunday, President Donald Trump said he approved a major disaster declaration for California on Saturday after speaking to California Governor Gavin Newsom."We're working very closely with the governor and very closely with a lot of great state representatives and local representatives. And we'll take care of the situation," Trump said on Sunday. SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A San Diego couple woke up to find guns pointed in their face inside their own home. The home invasion happened on the 3200 block of Bramson Place just before 7 a.m. on Monday. Officers say the couple was sleeping when they found the suspects inside their home. The suspects were masked and one of them also had a knife. Police say the burglars put the knife to the man's throat, cutting him several times. Neighbors were too afraid to talk on camera but told 10News said they heard all of the commotion. One witness said they saw the two men running towards a nearby parking lot and getting into a red car. Police don't have a suspect description since the suspects were wearing masks. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- Thousands of members of the LGBTQ Community and their allies lined the streets of Hillcrest to celebrate the San Diego Pride Parade Saturday morning. More than 200 floats were on display at this year's event. We asked the crowd, "What does "Pride" mean to you?""It means finally being able to live out and proud.""It's the freedom to celebrate who we are.""Love our neighbor as ourselves and love God!"Some have been coming to the San Diego Pride Parade for decades. "Oh my gosh, she's been 26 years of marching in pride with me," Dana Harwood said of her mother. "...And I love my lesbian daughter!" her mother, Bobbi said. For others, this year's parade is their debut to the world. "Fours months ago, I started my transition," Grace McBride said. "I am just so happy now that I came out to be authentic."For 55 years, people called her Dale. But today, she is proudly Grace."Dale was struggling. Dale was a Marine. Dale worked for the cable company, and anymore now I just want to share the love," McBride said. It has been a long struggle for the LGBTQ community. The most notable moment was the Stonewall Riots in 1969, where New York Police raided LGBTQ members staying at the Stonewall Inn. "Stonewall gave us a sense of freedom. A sense of power," Drag Queen Vera Del Mar said.Vera Del Mar grew up in National City but now lives in Tucson. She says she is lucky to have her entire family in her corner. "It's cool because it's not really different at all," her younger brother Mile said. "We just like to support her and help her succeed in life."Like the thousands of people at the parade, Alexis is proud. She is celebrating, not hiding her Pride.
