Christmas 2019 will be coming a bit earlier for "Wonder Woman 2" fans.Warner Bros. has announced that the film will be released on November 1, 2019 -- six weeks earlier than had originally been slated.There was much excitement at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International when it was announced that the sequel to this year's blockbuster superhero movie would be coming out in mid-December 2019.With the film now being pushed up, it will no longer be in competition with "Star Wars: Episode IX," which is slated for a December 2019 release."Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins are both signed on for the sequel.The first film has grossed more than 2 million since its release in June, and Gadot can be seen next as part of the ensemble cast of superheroes in "Justice League," which comes out Friday.WATCH: Gal Gadot says Wonder Woman is the 'Glue' of the team 894

(KGTV) - Loved ones are mourning the death from COVID-19 of a retired CHP officer and beloved grandfather.Raul Martinez first started feeling sick in late August."Really tired and a fever," said Claudia Martinez.He tested positive for coronavirus and got sicker and sicker."He started complaining about having trouble breathing and he wouldn't eat," said Martinez.A few weeks after his first symptoms, his family brought him to the ER, where he was admitted.Raul, a diabetic, received various treatments, including Remdesivir, but late last month, he was placed on a ventilator."Super scared and panicked," said Martinez.Less than 24 hours later, Raul Martinez, a retired CHP officer, died at the age of 70."It was just shock and more pain than I can describe," said Martinez.Claudia says the father of four and grandfather of nine retired from the CHP a decade ago, after three decades on the job."He took pride definitely in servicing his community. He took pride in being a just person," said Martinez.He was also a careful person. During the pandemic, he and his wife were taking all the precautions."They were staying home a lot, wearing masks," said Martinez.She has no idea where he contracted the virus. As the pandemic continues on, she has a plea for others."Please do take it seriously, if not for yourself, for your loved ones ... Think of others and wear a mask. It’s not too much to ask. CINCINNATI -- Just days after calling for a national boycott of the Kroger Co., the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. brought his fight to the corporation's front porch.The Rainbow Push Coalition Local Steering Committee invited Jackson to Cincinnati as he continues his protest over Kroger closures in predominantly black neighborhoods. Kroger closed three unprofitable grocery stores in Memphis in February, mirroring its closure of a store in Cincinnati's Walnut Hills neighborhood last year. The company said its East McMillan Street location had lost millions of dollars over years."We wrote a letter to the leadership of Kroger, and they did not respond to us," Jackson said. "This is a pattern across the country. There are enough mouths to be fed and people to be served for Kroger to stay in the community. CHULA VISTA (CNS) - At least one man was injured in a traffic collision today on southbound Interstate 805 near East Palomar Street in Chula Vista, the California Highway Patrol said.At 11:10 a.m., a pickup truck flipped onto its side in a crash with a larger truck hauling boxes, according to a CHP incident log. The man was out of his pickup truck bleeding from a head wound.The larger truck continued southbound on I-805 after the crash, the CHP reported. The crash blocked two right lanes and traffic in the area was backed up, CHP officers on the scene said.No further information was immediately available. 620

CHULA VISTA (KGTV)-- It was back to school--virtually--for the Sweetwater Union High School District. They are the first school district in the county to start the year.Some parents said the one issue they ran into was technical problems. Gina Chavez, a mother of three and an elementary school teacher, said two of her three kids dealt with issues getting started. She said day one was "crazy."“My daughter started the day without an advisory class and no code for her science class,” Chavez said.Her other daughter couldn’t log onto her iPad, issued by the school district. “We had to scramble. I got my work computer, was able to log her on that way. [I] had to do a trouble ticket.”Two of her children have special needs and are on IEPs, individualized education programs. There still some question about how that will be handled in a remote environment.“I still haven’t heard anything as far as how they are going to specifically address his goals. I’m still waiting and if I don’t hear by the end of the week, I will be reaching out to figure that out,” Chavez said.A district spokesperson said roughly 9,400 devices were distributed last week. The majority of students were able to hold on to their devices from last year.Regarding technical problems, spokesperson Manny Rubio acknowledged the issues, but said the “issues are being resolve fairly quickly.”“It seems as though the great majority of students were logged in and had access to their classes,” Rubio wrote in an email to ABC 10News. “We do have our IT staff as well as school site staff available to answer questions and resolve issues.”Under the distance learning model, students are block schedules with three classes per day. There will be 30 to 45 minutes of virtual face time with the student’s teacher. The remaining time will be independent study, according to the plan released by the district.“I feel like I was torn in three different directions this morning trying to help every child get where they needed to be,” Chavez said. “If I had work today… I think I would have been in tears.”Chavez said she hopes the glitches get resolved by the end of the week.The Sweetwater Union High School District is facing many challenges, including a roughly million budget shortfall.An audit of the district conducted by the independent state agency Fiscal Crisis Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) showed there was enough evidence that fraud or misappropriation of funds may have occurred within the district. 2491
