(KGTV) - An upset burglary victim says she didn't get emotional when she saw the surveillance video, until she heard what the intruders did.Just off Applewood Drive around 4 p.m. Sunday, Michele returned home from grocery shopping with her 7-year-old daughter."I saw the bedroom was in complete disarray, grabbed my daughter and said, 'Let's get out of the house right now,'" said Michele.Ring doorbell video shows what happened: three men cased the home, then approached and hopped over her fence. Moments later, the three bag-toting men ripped off the screen of a back window and climbed in.The sound of Michele's dog, a 10-year-old Miniature Schnauzer named Trixie, is heard barking and then there is another noise: a pained whimpering lasting more than five seconds."Something was done to her to cause her pain.  It brought me to more tears than knowing we'd been violated," said Michele.About half an hour later, two of the men are seen leaving through the window, swatting at and toppling a camera on the way out.They would make off with electronics, a handgun and dozens of pieces of jewelry, including some priceless family heirlooms. Also gone was Michele's diamond and platinum wedding ring set."There was sentimental value for sure," said Michele.But Michele says she's thankful Trixie wasn't hurt badly. She also says missing the burglars by minutes was a literal blessing because she had stopped at church for a few minutes before coming home. "Really blessed to have God's protection," said Michele.Michele posted the videos on the Neighbors by Ring app, in hopes of tracking down a trio of brazen burglars."They clearly knew what they were doing. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is looking for a man who attempted to rob a Burger King, threatening employees with a gun, in El Cajon off of Old Highway 80. Deputies say the man ordered food and when the cashier told him the amount owed, he pulled out the gun and demanded money. The employees ran to the back and the suspect shot his gun at least once before running off, according to deputies.There were no customers inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting and none of the employees were hurt. The suspect was seen taking off westbound on Old Hwy 80 in a dark-colored pick-up truck. He's described as white or Hispanic, 5'8", and about 200 pounds. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government's top infectious disease expert, said during a Senate hearing Tuesday that he was "very disturbed" by the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and said it's conceivable that the U.S. could see as many as 100,000 new infections a day should trends continue."We are now having 40,000+ new cases a day," Fauci said. "I would not be surprised if we go up to 100,000 a day if this does not turn around."Also during the hearing, Fauci said he's "concerned" about how some states have gone about reopening their economies and said he's observed some states "skipping steps" on federal government guidelines."I am also quite concerned about what we are seeing evolve right now in several states, Fauci said. "When states start to try and open again, they need to follow the guidelines that have been very carefully laid out with regard to checkpoints.""What we've seen in several states is several iterations of that.
