(AP) — A Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of making more than 10,000 harassing phone calls to government offices, including some that included death threats against those answering the phone, federal prosecutors said.Robert Stahlnecker, 48, was arrested at his home in the Mojave Desert town of Twentynine Palms on Friday and held in federal custody after making an initial court appearance, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.He was charged with threatening federal officers and employees, making interstate communications with the threat to injure a person and anonymous telecommunications harassment.There his no listing for his home phone number and it couldn’t immediately be determined if he has an attorney. His arraignment was scheduled for Dec. 26.According to a 20-page complaint filed in federal court, the calls included three he made within five minutes on Aug. 28 to a congresswoman’s office in San Mateo. Prosecutors said he threatened to come to the office and kill the staffer who answered the phone.On Sept. 28, he allegedly made eight calls in seven minutes to the Washington office of a U.S. senator from Ohio. During the calls prosecutors said he used vulgar language in berating and threatening to kill an intern who answered the phone.Neither member of Congress was identified.In all, prosecutors said, Stahlnecker has made more than 10,000 calls to government agencies and elected officials since January.Prosecutors say U.S. Capitol Police have been investigating harassing and threatening calls allegedly made by Stahlnecker for at least 10 years. (AP) — California Democratic Party Chairman Eric Bauman was accused of inappropriate behavior on a campaign bus days before the Nov. 6 election, a Democratic official said Tuesday, a day after Bauman took a leave of absence.Bauman was among those aboard a bus during a statewide get-out-the-vote tour. (KGTV) - Mexican officials have rearrested two suspects who may be connected to the disappearance of Los Angeles firefighter Frank Aguilar who went missing in Mexico in August.Suspects Santos "N" and Fanny "N" were briefly released from a Baja jail overnight Sunday, according to media partner Televisa which confirmed the update with Mexican authorities.On Monday, ABC10 News interviewed Aguilar’s daughters, 17-year-old Bella and 23-year-old Amaris. “We were extremely devastated last night. It was probably the most hopeless we felt during this entire experience,” said Amaris.They told ABC10 News that their own sources have made significant discoveries about the suspects. They said the female suspect may have been dating their father. Officials have only said that it may have been a kidnapping setup and that the suspects were found in possession of Aguilar’s bank cards which had been used across Baja.“We don't know what happened for sure but after he went missing, between the seven weeks, they have been using his credit cards, his phone and there were blood traces [from] my dad in the location of the investigation,” said Bella.ABC10 News reported last Friday that the two suspects were arrested on Thursday but Aguilar still hasn't been found.Televisa has now learned from Mexican officials that on Sunday a judge allowed for their release but the state investigation agency got another arrest warrant at dawn and the two were apprehended.In September, ABC10 News reported that the 48-year-old's family learned that he may have been violently kidnapped from his second home in a guard-gated community in Rosarito.There were reports that his condo may have been ransacked, his vehicles were missing and Ring video showed a troubling scene.The two suspects reportedly have a new hearing scheduled for Monday night.“These people could be let out on bail and we have no other way of finding information until [they remain] incarcerated so this is our most desperate plea in our most desperate time of need,” added Bella.The San Diego FBI Office told ABC10 News on Monday that their agents are still assisting Mexican authorities with the investigation. 2193

SACRAMENTO (KGTV) - Cal Fire identified Tuesday high-priority projects to protect more than 200 areas at high risk of a fire, including those in San Diego County. The East County neighborhoods of Crest and Guatay were among the 35 communities considered to be in urgent need of attention in a list released by Cal Fire. Both communities have community fuel breaks that need to be cleared, a Cal Fire report showed. The Guatay fuel break covers 128 acres over 15 communities, affecting 221,282 people. The Crest fuel break covers 60 acres over 3 communities and affects 5,278 people, according to the survey.
