SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County issued cease and desist orders to several businesses Monday after the county entered the state’s restrictive purple tier.According to the county, the orders were issued to several local restaurants, gyms, and yoga studios. The news came after Governor Gavin Newsom hit the brakes on economic activity, moving 28 more counties into the state’s most restrictive tier. The purple tier restricts capacity at retail businesses, closes gyms, and limits restaurants to outdoor-only service.Monday, Newsom forced 41 of California’s 58 counties to the purple tier. Those counties represent nearly 95 percent of the state’s population.Prior to Monday, only 13 counties were in the purple tier.See the full list of orders below:Cease & Desist Danny's BarCease & Desist Meat Monsters GrillCease & Desist Fit Athletic Club Ash StCease & Desist Fit Athletic Club Ocean Front WalkCease & Desist Fit Athletic Club Solana BeachCease & Desist Fit Athletic Club Tenth AveCease & Desist Fit Athletic Club World Trade DrCease & Desist Reach YogaCease & Desist Self Made Training FacilityCease & Desist Shelter Bar EncinitasCease & Desist Shock FitnessCease & Desist The LandingCease & Desist Yoga Box HillcrestCease & Desist Yoga Box North ParkCease & Desist Yoga Box Ocean BeachCease & Desist Yoga Box Pacific BeachCease & Desist Awaken Church CarlsbadCity News Service contributed to this report. 1420

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Loyal SC announced Thursday they will be wearing a Black Lives Matter alternate kit for the team's first game and for other selected games through 2021.The uniform is all black with dark teal accent and the phrase “Together San Diego” will run down the side of the jersey. Player nameplates will spell out "Black Lives Matters" across the back standing in solidarity with the national-turned-global movement against racism and injustice towards people of color. The team's first game is Saturday in Utah. The organization's goal in aligning itself with the BLM movement is to promote inclusivity and diversity in the community, according to team President Warren Smith."Loyal is more than just our name -- it's our mantra," Smith said. "The Loyal in our name is symbolic of the diversity in our community, and now more than ever we stand by this. It's time to show our loyalty and stand together in the fight against racism and put an end to the violence fueled by hatred against our Black community."The team said it will auction off player-worn jerseys to fans with the profits going toward the Association of African American Educators of San Diego (AAAE), an "organization that advocates for equity in education within the ethnically diverse pupil population of San Diego County."“As a professional sport team, we have a duty to use our voices in a productive, meaningful way to benefit our communities,” said EVP of Soccer Operations and First Team Manager Landon Donovan. “We will not be silent about racial injustice and encourage our fans and community to join us in taking a stand.”The team said it will be giving 10 percent of jersey sales proceeds to the AAAE. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County reported 634 new coronavirus cases on Friday, the highest number of new cases reported over one day thus far.The new cases were out of 9,224 tests reported to the county on Friday — a 7% positive result — and bring the region's COVID-19 case total to 22,489 cases.County health leaders also reported seven more deaths due to the virus on Friday. The victims died between July 7 and July 15 and include three women and four men, whose ages ranged from early 50s to mid-90s. All had existing chronic conditions. The county's death toll is now at 472 deaths. Two new community setting outbreaks were also reported, both traced to restaurants, the county says. The county does not name the businesses that community outbreaks are traced to, officials have previously said. In the past week, there have been 13 community outbreaks — nearly double the county's trigger of seven outbreaks in seven days.RELATED: Gov. Newsom: Counties not on state watch list will be allowed to start fall school year in-personOf the county's total cases, 2,154 (or 9.6%) have needed hospitalization, while 2.5% of all cases and 26.1% of hospitalized cases have been admitted to intensive care. The county's current rolling 14-day average is 6.1% positive tests. Officials say the county's target rate is under 8%.But the county says it's still falling short on its case rate (154.3) and case investigation (24%) triggers. San Diego's case rate trigger is greater than 100 cases per 100,000 people over 14 days, while the trigger for investigations is 70% or less within 24 hours of notification over seven days. The county is also still well above the state's case rate threshold of no more than 100 cases per 100,000 people, or more than 25 cases per 100,000 people and higher than 8% positivity. The new numbers come as California announces that counties that are on the state's watch list for 14 consecutive days will not be allowed to reopen for in-person school in the fall. San Diego County was placed on the monitoring list on July 3. 2057
