During a press gaggle at the White House on Monday, President Donald Trump said he's set a deadline of "around" Sept. 15 for TikTok's parent company to sell the rights to its U.S. business, and suggested that the sale include a payment to the U.S. Treasury.In his comments, Trump suggested that the short-form video app would be "out of business in the United States" if the company isn't sold by the deadline.He also said he suggested that any potential sale of the app should include a payment to the United States."A very substantial portion of that price is going to have to come into the Treasury of the United States because we're making it possible for this deal to happen," Trump said. "Right now, they don't have any rights unless we give it to them. So, if we're going to give them the rights, then it has to come into this county."It's a little bit like the landlord-tenant," Trump added. "Without a lease, the tenant has nothing. So, they pay what's called key money, or they pay something. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- A crash sent a minivan into the side of a building in El Cajon Wednesday evening. According to a witness, the crash happened near the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Orange Avenue around 5 p.m. The witness told 10News that the white van went into the side of a building and through a garage. Photos of the building show the vehicle lodged into a wall. At this time it’s unknown if anyone was injured in the crash. 452
Dunkin' is permanently closing about 800 locations throughout the country — about eight percent of its restaurants in the U.S.The company detailed the changes in its quarterly earnings report on Thursday.Dunkin' described the closures as "real estate portfolio rationalizations." It also said the locations have low sales volume and represent only two percent of its U.S. sales last year.More than half of the closures are in Speedway convenience stores — a change Dunkin' previously announced in February.The company said it may permanently close about 350 locations outside of the U.S.The announcement comes a day after McDonald's said it would close around 200 locations, most of them in Walmart stores. 714
Doctors and researchers have noticed that the coronavirus affects children differently. Now, there are questions about how accurate COVID-19 tests are in kids.One recent study done by several laboratories and hospitals in Massachusetts looked at the BinaxNOW rapid test.The test had a high accuracy rate in adults, but when it came to symptomatic patients 18 and under, the accuracy rate was just under 78%. The rate decreased in asymptomatic children.Another paper, published in Clinical Microbiology and Infection, found the Panbio rapid test had a lower accuracy rate in children. It was only able to identify 62% of COVID-19 cases in patients under 16 years old.Doctors have differing opinions on why accuracy rates may be different in children.One doctor tells Yahoo News that children's immune systems are just better at zeroing in on diseases and making them harder to detect.A pediatric doctor we spoke with says she hasn't seen a difference in accuracy rates. If anything, symptoms may be different.“Sometimes the way that the disease processes or goes about in these children can change. It can change with obesity rates and things like that, but we have had it be successful with infants age as well as on up,” said Laura-Anne Cleveland with the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.There may also be some variation in the way the test is performed. The cotton swab is the same size for both adults and children, which means it could be more uncomfortable for kids.“Kids move around. If you have a little kid that you're trying to hold down, they're going to move around, and sometimes, we don't want to cause pain or cause tears, but you do have to get in that nose, do a couple turns, and be able to get a good sample,” said Cleveland.When children are tested, doctors say it may actually be a bad sign if they are comfortable during the test, because it may not produce an accurate result. If you notice your kid is comfortable while being tested of if the swab barely went into their nose, it's advised that you ask for the test to be redone. 2065
EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two firefighters were injured fighting a blaze that sparked near El Cajon Wednesday afternoon according to Cal Fire. Cal Fire says the blaze started on the 5500 block of Dehesa Road around 4 p.m. and burned 25 acres. As of 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, the fire is 50 percent contained. An incident report shows that two firefighters were injured, though the extent of their injuries was unclear. The blaze did for a brief time threaten structures, but none were damaged. Due to the blaze, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department evacuated Vista De La Montana east of Dehesa Road. Evacuation warnings were also issued for Trafalgar Road, Calle De Nicole, and Vista De La Montana. The agency tweeted just before 7 p.m. that all evacuation orders and warnings had been lifted. #VistaFire [update] All evacuation warnings have been lifted for Vista De La Montana, Trasalger Rd, and Calle De Nicole.
