Some of San Diego's fastest growing companies will add more than 600 new jobs over the next five years.The hiring, however, is starting now. California awarded 15 San Diego companies tax credits in exchange for investing locally and adding jobs. The state is granting them a ,000 tax credit in exchange for expanding locally, and hiring seven workers at an average salary of ,000 a year. "It's Jack and I running the show, and that's why we desperately need some employees to help us out," Solomon said. SPRING VALLEY (CNS) - A 61-year-old man shot a female relative in the leg during an argument Sunday afternoon in Spring Valley.The woman, whose identity was withheld, was struck in the left leg just before 4 p.m. at 1605 Presioca St., said San Diego County sheriff Sgt. Elizabeth Montoya.Danny Goodman was detained by deputies for the shooting and a weapon was recovered at the scene, a sergeant said. The relationship of the two was not immediately explained.The woman was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment. Goodman was also taken to a hospital after complaining of shortness of breath, Montoya said. 621

SPRING VALLEY (KGTV) -- Some neighbors in Spring Valley want the county to do more to address the large cluster of homeless tents at Lamar Park. Residents say the park’s homeless population has skyrocketed in recent months. At least two dozen tents lined Bancroft Drive outside the park gates Tuesday morning.“Our heart goes out to the homeless people, but when there’s drugs going on, people finding needles, the dogs are running loose, you can’t even bring your kids over to enjoy the park,” said neighbor Joe Fearce.RELATED: Del Mar neighbors aid woman living in car with 300 pet ratsThe county has posted signs saying it will clear the park January 13 for a major cleaning, but Fearce and other residents say that tactic has failed before.“They came in two or three Tuesdays ago. They cleaned everything out. By 3 o’clock, [the homeless people] were all back and then some,” Fearce said. “They know they can’t be arrested if there’s nowhere for them to go.”Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court solidified a lower court’s ruling that protects the rights of homeless people to camp in parks or on sidewalks if there is no other shelter available.
