PRINCETON, N.J. — Princeton University has announced plans to remove the name of former President Woodrow Wilson from its public policy school because of his segregationist views, reversing a decision the Ivy League school made four years ago to retain the name.University president Christopher Eisgruber said in a letter to the school community Saturday that the board of trustees had concluded that “Wilson’s racist views and policies make him an inappropriate namesake” for Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs and the residential college.Eisgruber said the trustees reversed their April 2016 decision in light of the recent killings of George Floyd and others. Floyd's death sparked weeklong protests against systemic racism and police brutality. 776

Republican Reps. Chris Collins and Duncan Hunter, who are both facing federal indictments, were re-elected to Congress Tuesday night, CNN projects. Both men were early supporters of President Donald Trump, who blasted the Justice Department earlier this year for investigating the two Republicans.Despite the federal charges against him, which he calls "meritless," Collins has been actively campaigning to keep his seat in New York's 27th Congressional District.Collins, the first House member to endorse Trump's 2016 campaign, has been charged with securities fraud, wire fraud and false statements stemming from alleged insider trading in stock of an Australian pharmaceutical company.Hunter, who represents California's 50th Congressional District, was indicted the same month as Collins in August -- but for charges of campaign corruption related to a quarter-million dollars' worth of charges on his campaign credit card. Hunter claimed he was framed by a "corrupt" Department of Justice but also placed blame on his wife.He went on to suggest that his Mexican-Palestinian-American opponent -- a 29-year-old former Obama administration aide who is Christian -- is a Muslim with ties to terrorism who would threaten the security of US soldiers.Meanwhile, Sen. Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, survived a tough re-election bid amid dismal approval ratings following his federal corruption trial that ended in a hung jury. While the Justice Department filed to dismiss charges against Menendez, he was still admonished by the Senate Ethics Committee for accepting gifts without proper approval from a wealthy ophthalmologist and returning in kind with political favors.. 1688

President Donald Trump threw some red meat to his base this week and claimed he was prepared to defy the Constitution and end birthright citizenship in the U.S.His comments led to cheers from immigration hardliners, outrage from his Democratic critics and a few notable rebukes from senior Republicans in Congress who usually stand behind him.Trump botched some claims about birthright citizenship, such as when he said the U.S. is the only country with that law. Many countries offer the same. A number of legal experts say it is highly unlikely he can end the practice with an executive order-- as did Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. The timing of the proposal dovetails with the President's broader efforts to make the midterm election about illegal immigration, a topic that animates his base. Trump and his allies tie birthright citizenship to the broader effort to curtail illegal immigration. 906

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) — Julio Mora slipped away from his parents to secretly marry Waldramina Quinteros one February day. Both families disapproved. But seventy-nine years later, they’re still together — he at 110 years of age, and she at 104. Both are lucid and in good health, though relatives say they’re a little depressed because they miss their big family get-togethers due to the pandemic. And they can gather quite a crowd: four surviving children, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.There are longer marriages, but at the moment none between people so old — just short of a combined 215 years. It's a mark now certified by Guinness World Records. The couple received a certification earlier this month. Previously listed as the oldest were an Austin, Texas, couple, Charlotte Henderson and John Henderson who have a combined age of 212 years and 52 days. 906

RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - The owners of a Ramona camel farm are concerned about a new California senate bill which could ban the animals from taking part in parades and shows. Known as the “circus cruelty” bill, it would stop Gil and Nancy Riegler from the Oasis Camel Dairy from transporting camels to events like parades, fairs, or Christmas nativity shows. Supporters of the bill say it will prevent animal abuse. 422
