WASHINGTON (AP) — Chief Justice John Roberts spent a night in a hospital last month after he fell and injured his forehead.A Supreme Court spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday night that Roberts was treated at a hospital on June 21 for an injury sustained in a fall while walking for exercise near his home.The spokeswoman, Kathleen L. Arberg, said in a statement that Roberts' injury required sutures, and out of an abundance of caution, he stayed in the hospital overnight.Arberg also said it’s believed that the fall was likely due to light-headedness caused by dehydration.The Supreme Court’s statement followed initial reporting on the incident by The Washington Post, which received a tip.The Post reports that the 65-year-old judge suffered a fall at a Maryland country club and that his injuries were serious enough to require sutures. 844

VIENNA (AP) — Officials say at least two people were killed and 15 others wounded in Vienna after multiple gunmen opened fire on people enjoying a last evening out before lockdown in the Austrian capital. Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz confirmed that one attacker was killed in what security officials were calling a terror attack. Austria’s top security official said authorities believe there were several gunmen involved and that a police operation was still ongoing. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer told public broadcaster ORF that the perpetrators were armed with rifles. WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has made it easier for religious schools to obtain public funds, upholding a Montana scholarship program that allows state tax credits for private schooling. The court’s 5-4 ruling, with conservatives in the majority, came Tuesday in a dispute over a Montana scholarship program for private K-12 education that also makes donors eligible for up to 0 in state tax credits. Montana's highest court had struck down the tax credit as a violation of the state constitution’s ban on state aid to religious schools.
