(KGTV) - A couple was on their way to the hospital to give birth, but their baby decided to make his grand entrance before they could get there.Bill Sudzuk's wife, Holly Hill, was not expected to give birth to their third child until next week. But early Thursday morning, she began having contractions.As they drove to the hospital at around 2:30 a.m., Sudzuk realized that the baby was not going to wait as they were still a few minutes away from the delivery room."Baby wanted to come out, nothing we could do about it," Sudzuk said.Because of the contractions, the couple pulled over in the parking lot of a Chevron gas station on Scripps Poway Parkway and Pomerado Road, and Sudzuk called 911 for assistance.While on the phone, paramedics guided Sudzuk through the process of helping deliver the baby. Seconds later, Sudzuk caught Simon with his free hand. "Three minutes later, we have a little one!" Hill said.Next thing he knew, Sudzuk was handling the umbilical cord with a bungee."I went and found a string, and I ended up cutting a bungee off my backpack and cutting and tying it off," Sudzuk said. Paramedics arrived to check on mom and baby before putting them in an ambulance and taking them to the hospital.Doctors said they are lucky they had no complications. Simon, who is now nicknamed "Chevron" is a happy, healthy baby boy. Despite their crazy day, the family is in good spirits. President Donald Trump isn't letting up on pushing false claims about the 2020 election, even after the Electoral College upheld president-elect Joe Biden's win on Monday.In the early morning hours of Tuesday, Trump took to Twitter to spread more disinformation about voting systems and unsubstantiated voter fraud claims. The flood of misinformation forced Twitter to apply seven warning labels about election security to seven tweets or retweets from the president.The Electoral College's vote on Monday to seal Biden's win in the 2020 election gives Trump little recourse to further challenge the results. The Supreme Court has already rejected several lawsuits brought by the Trump campaign, and with Electoral Votes cast, the election is now out of the hands of the states which counted the votes.In a speech delivered Monday following the Electoral College vote, Biden delivered his most pointed criticism of Trump's continued election denialism yet. Reese Osterburg didn’t get a chance to save her 200-card collection when the Creek Fire forced her family to evacuate. When local authorities heard about her loss, they put out a call for baseball card donations. A collector in San Jose donated more than 25,000 baseball cards, which were presented to Reese on Friday. President Donald Trump announced Tuesday he is quitting the Iran nuclear deal, pitting him against the United States' closest allies and leaving the future of Tehran's nuclear ambitions in question."I am announcing today that the United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal," Trump said from the White House."It is clear to me that we cannot prevent an Iranian nuclear bomb under the decaying and cotton structure of the current agreement," he said. PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Hurricane Marco is heading across the Gulf of Mexico on a path toward the Louisiana coast.Tropical Storm Laura battered the Dominican Republic and Haiti and is headed to the same part of the U.S. coast, also as a potential hurricane. On Sunday, President Donald Trump said his administration was closely monitoring both hurricanes and that they had FEMA lined up and the Coast Guard ready to go. Trump added that he had approved emergency declarations for Puerto Rico as well as Louisiana.It appears the storms will avoid being hurricanes simultaneously — something that researchers say has never happened in the Gulf of Mexico at least since records began being kept in 1900. The National Hurricane Center says Marco was about 240 miles (390 kilometers) south-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River late Sunday afternoon.
