As cases of COVID-19 surge among members of FC Dallas, the MLS announced that it has postponed the team’s match against the Vancouver Whitecaps scheduled for Wednesday.Six players from FC Dallas in the last week have tested positive for COVID-19.The MLS is resuming play this week in Orlando, Florida as part of a tournament after the league shutdown in mid-March, less than two weeks into the 2020 season.. The entire league is staying in Orlando, and will play all matches at the Wide World of Sports complex.Four of the positive tests have cone since the team has arrived in Orlando, prompting concerns that the virus could spread within the protective bubble the league has established.All FC Dallas players are quarantining themselves in their hotel rooms.The match has now been pushed back to July 15.“In consultation with MLS medical officials, FC Dallas took proactive steps to isolate the newly-affected players as well as all FC Dallas players and staff in Orlando out of an abundance of caution. All members of the club delegation are following MLS health and safety protocols and will remain quarantined in their hotel rooms pending the results of further COVID-19 testing,” FC Dallas said in a statement. 1225

Now, locally there's a very simple idea to help make the schools safer.A fire hose is a strong, simple life saving tool. After years of high pressure use it’s retired. But now old hose has a new way to save lives. A small slice of that tough tubing can prevent a shooter from getting into a classroom.Grant Reed of Rural Metro Fire Department showed how to apply the piece of fire hose to a typical door closer, common in many schools."We're gonna slide it right over here, right over this hydraulic arm. The goal is to keep this where it cannot open anymore so it's pretty simple to go on. Just attach it. Once it's slid over the arms makes it a lot more difficult for this door to open." Rural Metro says the sleeves were first used in Kansas. Many schools are beginning to use them.Rural Metro is sharing these security sleeves with the Tanque Verde School District and other districts Rural Metro serves. The Pima County Sheriff's Department was happy to see schools have another way to buy time while deputies rush to take down a shooter. School Resource Deputy Scott McLeod says the sleeves are something a teacher can put on fast, then take other steps to make the room a tougher target."I tell the teachers enlist the help of your students if you are in a true lockdown scenario, enlist your students, have them help you out, barricade the door and also use the sleeve." As Comet Halley leaves behind debris, it should be visible to those looking up in the sky Friday and Saturday nights.That debris is called the Orionid meteors and it is left in the comet's wake. The debris strikes the Earth's atmosphere most fully around Oct. 20-22, according to EarthSky.org.Comet Halley is nowhere near Earth, but our globe is intersecting with the comet's orbit.The Orionid meteor shower is expected to be most visible Sunday morning after the moon sets and before the sun rises."... (KGTV) -- The Disneyland Resort announced Tuesday that the park will be closing A Big's Land to make way for a new superhero-themed land.According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become an immersive superhero universe.The new land will be anchored by the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!” in the space occupied by A Bug's Land.RELATED: Disney California Adventure's Pixar Pier to open this summerOn March 19, “It’s Tough to Be a Bug" closed to make way for the new experience.
