A Las Vegas doctor says plastic surgery is on the rise nationwide as more young people are suffering from a new disorder called "Snapchat Dysmorphia."According to an article published in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, doctors are seeing more patients request a thinner nose, fuller lips and eyelid surgery.Dr. Daliah Wachs said those who suffer from this disorder feel that their face or body is flawed, solely based on what they see on social media.Apps like Snapchat and Instagram allow users to manipulate their photos using filters that can do things like enhance lighting or even slim your face or body. Wachs said this is concerning because social media users can lose touch with reality, feeling that the filtered selfies are how someone should look all the time and think surgery is the answer.According to Wachs, the most common minimally invasive cosmetic procedures reported were: 937

A childhood baseball glove lost 40 years ago made its way from a family’s hometown in Ohio to a Goodwill store in Palm Beach County, Florida.“I just walked in and there sitting on the edge of a shelf on the bottom shelf was this mitt, sitting so that I could see the name, 'Christopher Lisi' on it," Julie Anne Lisi said.Julie Anne and Mike Lisi, from Ohio, are spending time in their home in Tequesta this month. They were visiting Goodwill in Jupiter on Indiantown Road for senior day on Wednesday when Julie Anne spotted the mitt with her son's name on it in his own handwriting. She also noticed her own handwriting just inside of it."My knees got wobbly and I got weak and scared," Julie Anne said.An emotional Julie Anne called over her husband to show him her discovery."She was in tears, shaking then she showed me the glove and I understood," Mike said.Julie Anne took a picture of the glove and texted it to her son Christopher."He texted back, 'Buy it,'” she said.Sue Rounds, a cashier at Goodwill, rung up the priceless childhood mitt for .49."A lady came to the register and I asked her and I said, 'How are you?' She said, 'I’m shaking,'" Rounds said. "I said. 'What’s wrong?' She said, 'The glove!'”The biggest question now is how did the mitt end up at a Jupiter Goodwill? After it turned up, Christopher told his parents he lost it after a championship baseball game in 1978 when he was 12 years old. He had hit two home runs during that game. He lost the glove afterward and hadn't seen it since.“He had won the championship and in the hullaballoo and the handing out of trophies he probably set it down on a bench and somebody walked away with it," Mike said.Julie Anne said she has donated to Goodwill before, but she has only donated used books. Even then, she's donated those up in Ohio because that's where their longtime house, and subsequent clutter from over the years, is located. A Goodwill representative said the company doesn't track specific items, but they do move them from store to store if they're not selling.Julie Anne hopes to figure out how exactly the glove made its way down the country.“To me, it’s a miracle," Julie Anne said. 2190

The photo is tagged at an AMC movie theater in the Georgetown nieghborhood of Washington, D.C."Joe Biden took his granddaughter to the movies in Georgetown last night," Equale wrote. "On his way out he stopped to speak w/ a homeless man. A bystander took this candid shot. Character is about what you do when no one is watching."Reports indicate that Biden appeared to write the man a note.Later, Equale posted that his Facebook post led to receiving media requests from "everywhere" and receiving more than 25,000 friend requests.The post also led to renewed cries for Biden to run for the Democratic nominee for President in 2020. A Dallas police officer died Wednesday morning, a day after he and a colleague were shot at a Home Depot, police said.Officer Rogelio Santander, a three-year police veteran, passed away at 8:11 a.m. of his injuries."We ask that you please continue to pray for Officer Santander's family and our department as we all try to cope with this tragic loss," police said on the department blog.Officer Crystal Almeida and loss prevention officer Scott Painter also were shot in the Tuesday incident. They remain in critical condition, but are improving."Prayers for their recovery are still appreciated," police said. "Thank you to our community and everyone at Presbyterian Hospital for your love and support during this time."The suspect, Armando Juarez, 29, was captured after a car chase that started in southeastern Dallas and ended in the northeastern area of the city.Mayor Mike Rawlings thanked police officers from Dallas and other agencies for their efforts in searching for the gunman."Incredible police work," he said on Twitter. "It sobers us to realize what our officers walk into day in and day out and how quickly they can become victims."Police said Juarez was to be charged with at least two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant and two previous felony theft warrants.
