MOSCOW (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin says that a coronavirus vaccine developed in his country has been cleared for use and one of his daughters has already been inoculated, even as international experts have questioned its safety. Speaking at a government meeting Tuesday, Putin said that the vaccine has proven efficient during tests, offering a lasting immunity from the coronavirus. Putin added that the vaccine underwent the necessary tests, saying that one of his two adult daughters has received two shots of the vaccine. Putin said that his daughter had a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit) on the day of the first vaccine injection, and then it dropped to just over 37 degrees (98.6 Fahrenheit) on the following day. After the second shot she again had a slight increase in temperature, but then it was all over.“She’s feeling well and has high number of antibodies,” Putin added. MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Attorneys for the family of George Floyd announced Wednesday that they’ve filed a lawsuit against the City of Minneapolis and the four officers involved in the 46-year-old’s death on Memorial Day.Watch the attorneys press conference below:The federal lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. It names the city and former officers Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng as the defendants in the case.The lawsuit claims the city is responsible for a police culture of excessive force, racism and impunity.The complaint is seeking compensatory and special damages and costs as defined under federal law in an amount to be determined by a jury. The suit is also asking for the appointment of a receiver or similar authority to ensure that the City of Minneapolis properly trains and supervises its police officers.Floyd died in police custody the night of May 25 after former officer Chauvin pressed his knee against the handcuffed man’s neck for several minutes while he said, “I can’t breathe.” The incident was captured on video, which quickly spread online and led to worldwide protests with activists calling for justice and racial equality.“This complaint shows what we have said all along, that Mr. Floyd died because the weight of the entire Minneapolis Police Department was on his neck,” said attorney Ben Crump in a press release. “The City of Minneapolis has a history of policies, procedures and deliberate indifference that violates the rights of arrestees, particularly Black men, and highlights the need for officer training and discipline. NASA announced Monday that two new studies show that there may be more water on the moon than previously thought.In a press conference, NASA said that two studies published in the journal Nature Astronomy said that data gathered by a lunar orbiter and an airborne telescope detected the presence of molecular water molecules on the sunlit surface of the moon.Previously, NASA speculated that most of the water on the moon was located on the shadowy surface that is not lit by the sun.The study opens the possibility of using that water as a resource, allowing for longer missions on the moon's surface that would require astronauts to live there for extended periods of time. 683

MURRIETA, Calif. (KGTV) -- One second she was getting the all-clear to go into the home, and the next the walls crumbled around her. A mother trapped inside when a Murrieta home when it exploded says there’s only one reason she made it out alive. "I just saw everything crashing down around me, and I thought I was dead, I thought that was it,” said Alexis Haaland, who was inside home when it blew up. Looking at the house Tuesday, Haaland says she’s still in shock she walked away from the explosion with only a few scratches. "I just stood still and I covered my head and I was screaming oh my god, just hoping nothing hit me."Haaland was having solar panels installed at the home she lived in with her family for about a month. She says the solar company told her they hit a gas line and that she should probably leave. She took her two kids and put them outside with her mother and little brother in their van. Haaland says a firefighter told her she could go back in and get her wallet and diaper bag. That’s when the home exploded. "I just knew I had to get out, and I ran to my mom and my kids and my mom just looked at me and was like how did you get out of there."Haaland says she got out through a window that was shattered in the blast. She says she was standing by a wall, the only one left standing after the home exploded. "I'm really shook up still, having a couple panic attacks and stuff, but I'm alive, and that's all that really matters."Haaland says she’s thankful that her kids were outside the home. She says the moments after the explosion were tough, adding that her thoughts are with the man killed in the explosion and those who were injured. "There wasn't much sleep last night. Pretty much any loud noise woke me up."The family says the community has stepped up and offered to help them after they lost everything in the blast. 1865

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN — A Milwaukee mother is livid that her 5-year-old son with autism was able to walk away from school. He was gone for about an hour and no one even knew he was missing until a stranger picked him up in a car."I can't believe my baby was out of the street and nobody had any idea that he was even missing," said the boy's mom Crystal Borzick.Her son, Blake Greenley, made it to the middle of busy Mill Road near 87th when a stranger spotted him trying to cross."His face was red," said Karen Stacy. "He was very cold. He was crying."Stacy said several cars slammed on their brakes when the boy darted across Mill Road to the median around 11 o'clock Thursday morning. She stopped and got out to try to find out what was wrong.Greenley has autism and does not usually speak to strangers. Stacy finally got him in her car and called the police. She was shocked to find no one reported him missing so she posted his picture on Facebook while she waited for officers.A friend of Borzick shared it with her on Facebook."That's the picture I got sent," said Crystal Borzick. "And as a mom, that made my stomach sink."She frantically called his school, Bruce Elementary."Nobody even has an idea that my son is missing from the school," said Borzick.Officers brought him back. When Crystal saw him she said she broke down."I cried," said Borzick. "I cried. I hugged him like I have never hugged him before. It was a relief sigh of relief, but it's also like I can't believe my baby was out of the street."She said she was told by the school her son might have left after lunch and that his regular teacher was out and a substitute was teaching.Milwaukee Public Schools gave a statement on the matter."We are grateful Blake was quickly found by a concerned community member and that he is safe.
